For anyone in Westwood on the hunt for a proper place to play padel, The Court is waiting, Westwood’s nearest dedicated padel club.
The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club and it’s one of a kind! Four panoramic indoor courts created for the sport, a restaurant and bar for post-game bites and drinks, and a club atmosphere that makes every visit feel like way beyond just reserving a court.
If you haven’t had a go at padel yet, that’s perfectly fine. You’ll be in excellent company, because most of the folk who walk through our doors haven’t either. Already play? In search of better courts and a proper club? Come and see what we’ve put together.

About Padel
Padel is a racket sport that brings together elements of tennis and squash, and it’s played on an enclosed court that’s about three-quarters the size of a regular tennis court.
The court’s bordered by glass walls and metal fencing, and here’s what makes it special: the ball can kick off those walls mid-rally, giving you angles and shots you’d never see in tennis!
You serve underarm, it’s always played as doubles, and the rallies are rapid but surprisingly easy to follow. People regularly call it the best of tennis and squash rolled into one, and truthfully, that’s a fairly spot-on summary.
Scoring runs the same as tennis (15, 30, 40, game), with one notable difference: at deuce, padel uses a golden point in place of advantage. One deciding rally and the point is won, which keeps matches flowing and adds a dose of pressure that makes those close games seriously gripping.
The racket’s solid instead of strung, which means you don’t need the same swing that makes tennis so difficult for new players!
Give it half an hour on court and most players have the basics sorted. That fast learning curve is a huge reason padel is now one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players in 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. Across the UK, padel is the fastest-growing racket sport around, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that movement north of the border.

Westwood’s Nearest Padel Courts
There are four indoor panoramic padel courts at The Court, all located inside our 33,000 sq ft venue on Glasgow’s south side.
The courts are full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage frames, fitted to the same grade you’d expect at professional tournaments. Whatever the weather, you can get a game in, because The Court is fully indoors.
Westwood’s not exactly famous for non-stop sun, so being able to have a game year-round makes a real difference. Some of the outdoor courts across the city are decent when the weather behaves, but that’s a gamble you don’t need to take here.
We’re open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s enough flexibility to fit a game into your routine. The entire space was specifically fitted to create the best padel experience!
You’ll find the courts are well-lit, thoroughly ventilated, and well positioned to give you real room around the cage.
We didn’t want to stuff courts into whatever room was going in a warehouse or leisure centre. We wanted to create somewhere that truly felt right for padel!

Playing Padel at The Court Without Membership
No membership required. Everybody can have a game at The Court.
Anyone can reserve a court through Playtomic and show up for a session. Court hire costs £28 to £40 per hour depending on the time slot, and that covers all four players, which works out at less than a tenner each for an hour of padel.
If you start getting on court regularly, membership covers itself by making it all more affordable and more straightforward.

With the Play membership at £40 per month, you’ll get 25% off court bookings, 10-day advance booking, and access to member sessions and events.
If you’re the type who likes to get on court several times a week, the Unlimited membership at £120 per month gets you unlimited court access, 14-day priority booking, 10% off food and drink, and invitations to VIP events!

Padel for Beginners in Westwood
Most players who type in “padel Westwood” have never actually played.
If that’s you, here’s the best news: padel is one of the easiest racket sports to start enjoying from the off.
Because you serve underarm, there’s no tricky overhand serving technique to learn before you can get a rally under way! A smaller court means less sprinting into back corners, and the glass walls serve as stops that keep the ball in play rather than sailing off into the distance.

All of that means more time actually hitting the ball and less time running after it.
There’s no need to bring your own kit. We’ve got rackets and balls ready to pick up at the venue, so you can turn up in gym shoes and activewear and be on court within no time.
Jump online. Pick a time. Gather three friends. Padel is doubles, so you need four players. Anxious about looking out of place? Don’t be.
Padel is built to be a laugh from the very beginning, and most newcomers find themselves smiling and being competitive within their first few games.
The glass walls create unexpected bounces that catch literally everyone out, even players who’ve been playing for ages! If you’re looking for a place to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you walk onto the court, look no further!

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Westwood Residents
If you fancy a proper intro to padel rather than just making it up as you go, our qualified coaches run sessions for various ability level! Beginners get walked through all the basics: forehand, backhand, volley, the all-important lob, court positioning, and the basics!
That knowledge of where to stand and when to come to the net makes a massive difference in padel, and picking up it through coaching is a much shorter route to actually having fun in your sessions.
Already got the basics sorted and want to push your game further? There are sessions centred on more complex shots too!
Two shots in particular set apart casual players from those who really understand padel: the bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin). If you can’t always have a group of four ready, our social sessions let you turn up on your own and get put together with nearby players.

If pulling together four players every time feels like hard work, social sessions are a fantastic way to connect with new players and get regular games going. Loads of Westwood members kicked off exactly that way. Rocked up alone, met new faces, and now have a game two or three times a week.
We’ve Got More Than Padel Courts
This is almost very likely the part that sets The Court apart from other padel clubs near Westwood.
The Court isn’t just a unit with courts in it. The club has a fully serviced bar and restaurant, so you can have a bite and a drink either side of your match without having to head somewhere else!

It turns an hour of padel into an evening out, and that’s just how we planned it.
We’ve also got a Pilates studio on site. Padel is brilliant for cardio and agility, while Pilates builds the core {strength} and flexibility that enable you perform better on court and recover sooner.

A few of our members do both in the a single visit. Then there’s the pro shop, waiting for the moment you get hooked (which usually does happen), so you can pick up your own racket without rolling the dice on an online purchase and hoping it works out right.

Our team really know their gear, and they’ll walk you through what matches your ability and playing style.
Private events are another element of what we offer. If you’re after a team-building event, a birthday, or just something new for a night out with colleagues, padel’s simple to arrange around a group because the rules are easy to pick up and the games are quick.
Factor in the restaurant and bar to that, and you’ve got the whole evening taken care of in one spot.
The Court: A Community Padel Club in Glasgow’s Southside
Something people spot fairly fast about The Court is that it doesn’t have that corporate gym energy, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave type of place.
There’s a true padel community here, and it’s built up naturally from those who come in week after week, the social sessions that bring new faces together, and the fact that the restaurant and bar give everyone a reason to stick around after the last point.
Padel fans who’ve been playing for years sit alongside with newcomers who only picked it up last month, and that’s the atmosphere we wanted to grow from day one.
A regular league offers members a bit of structure and good-natured competition, while tournaments throughout the year draw in players from across Glasgow and further afield.
But it’s not entirely about winning here.
Padel is a social sport at its core, and some of the greatest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is full with people who came for a session and stayed for the meal.
If you’re searching for a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you truly belong, come and experience the community for yourself.
We believe you’ll want to come back.
How Padel Stacks Up to Other Sports in Westwood
Coming from tennis? The biggest difference is definitely the walls!
In padel, the ball remaining in play off the glass shifts the whole game about how you think about shot selection!
No firing winners into corners. Your opponent takes the ball off the back wall.
Patience and placement over raw power. Tennis players find that a welcome change but unexpectedly tricky at first.
Coming from squash, the transition is a shade more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game.
Rather than hitting into the same wall, you’re hitting across a net. The court is open above you rather than closed off on all sides. And the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.
Squash players usually adapt without much trouble though, particularly to the volleying up at the net!
Never played a racket sport? Padel is without question the ideal place to start with.
It’s more forgiving than tennis, more social than squash (always doubles), and less physically punishing than five-a-side footy, but you still get a genuine workout!
An hour of padel burns somewhere between 400 and 700 calories depending on how hard you’re going, and it doesn’t destroy your knees the way running on concrete does!

Westwood’s Padel Scene is Growing
Westwood’s padel scene has come a long way in a relatively short time.
Go back a few years and there was virtually nowhere to have a game of padel in Westwood.
What makes The Court stand out is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not an add-on bolted onto a golf range or a gym chain.
Everything about this place was built around racket sports, from the courts to the coaching programme to the bar and restaurant!
For players who’ve sampled padel elsewhere in Westwood and are looking for a club that takes the sport properly while keeping things fun and friendly, we’d be delighted to welcome you.
