If you live in Strathaven and you’re after somewhere top-notch to play padel, The Court is your answer.
The Court is Glasgow’s very own padel club, and it’s got four panoramic indoor courts, a restaurant and bar for food and drinks after your match, and a proper club atmosphere that is so much more than just rocking up and booking a court.
If you’ve never touched a padel racket before, that’s entirely fine. Genuinely, most of the people who come in are in the same boat! Already playing? After better courts and a proper club? Come check out what we’ve built.

What is Padel?
Imagine a racket sport that grabs the best parts of tennis and squash and puts them on an enclosed court about three-quarters the size of a standard tennis court.
Glass walls and metal fencing surround the court, and the ball can ricochet off those walls during a rally, which creates angles and shots that simply don’t appear in tennis.
You serve underarm, you always play doubles, and the rallies are quick but remarkably easy to follow. If you’ve heard padel described as the best of tennis and squash combined, that’s a remarkably fair summary.
Scoring copies tennis at 15, 30, 40, game, but padel introduces a twist at deuce: a single golden point replaces advantage. One rally resolves it, which keeps things ticking along and adds a bit of pressure that makes the nail-biting games seriously exciting.
The racket is solid, not strung, and that single difference means you don’t need the form that makes tennis so unforgiving for newcomers.
Most people are getting the basics within their first half hour on court, no joke! That quick learning curve? It’s a massive reason why padel is now one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025! Across the UK, padel is the fastest-growing racket sport going, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that push north of the border.

Padel Courts Near Strathaven Players
There are four indoor panoramic padel courts at The Court, all based inside our 33,000 sq ft venue on Glasgow’s south side.
Full-sized courts. 20m x 10m. Glass back walls, metal cage surrounds. Same specifications as professional tournaments. No matter what’s happening outside, you can get a game in, because The Court is fully indoors.
Strathaven’s not exactly renowned for sunny skies, so being able to get on court all year makes a real difference. Outdoor courts work when the sun’s out. But that’s a chance you don’t need to take here.
Open 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday. 9am to 9pm Sundays. Loads of room to fit a match around your schedule. Every element of the facility was deliberately fitted to create the best possible padel experience.
Well-lit. Properly ventilated. Enough breathing room around every cage.
We wanted to put together somewhere that felt proper for padel, not stuff a couple of courts into whatever space was left in a warehouse or leisure centre.

Padel at The Court: Do You Need Membership?
To be clear, you don’t need to be a member to have a game at The Court.
Book through Playtomic. Turn up. Get on court. Sorted. Court hire’s between £28 and £40 per hour depending on when you play, and that covers four players, so it’s less than a tenner each for an hour of padel.
If you’re going to play often, membership makes everything better value and simpler.

The Play membership comes in at £40 per month and earns you 25% off court bookings, 10-day advance booking, and access to member sessions and events.
If you’re the type who plans to play multiple times a week, the Unlimited membership at £120 per month gets you unlimited court access, 14-day priority booking, 10% off food and drink, and invitations to VIP events!

Padel for First-Timers in Strathaven
If you’ve just Googled “padel Strathaven,” odds are you’ve never actually had a game!
If that describes you, here’s what you should know: padel is one of the simplest racket sports to start enjoying fast.
Because you serve underarm, there’s no overhead serving technique to master before you can even get a rally going. Because the court is smaller than a tennis court, you won’t need to dash into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play rather than firing off into the distance.

All of that means more time actually hitting the ball and less time chasing after it.
There’s no need to bring your own gear. We’ve got padel rackets and balls in stock to pick up at the venue, so you can show up in trainers and sportswear and be on court playing within moments!
Just hop online, select a time, and gather three pals along (padel is a doubles sport, so you’ll need four players in all)! If you’re anxious about looking like a complete beginner, put that thought away!
Padel is geared to be a laugh from the very beginning, and most newcomers find themselves smiling and feeling competitive within their first few rallies.
The glass walls throw up unexpected bounces that catch everybody out, even players who’ve been playing for ages. After a place to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth straight away? This is it.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Strathaven Players
For anyone who’d prefer a structured introduction to padel rather than muddling it out on your own, our qualified coaches run sessions for various ability levels. Basic shots: forehand, backhand, volley, the all-important lob. Court positioning. Fundamentals. All taught for beginners.
It’s a much faster way to begin properly having fun in your matches, because learning where to be and when to approach the net makes a enormous difference in padel.
Got the basics nailed? Sessions on more advanced shots will take your game to the next level.
The bandeja, a controlled overhead that keeps you at the net, and the vibora, a more aggressive version with spin. Those two set apart casual players from people who properly grasp the game. If you don’t have a group of four lined up, our social sessions let you come along on your own and get paired with fellow players.

It’s one of the quickest ways to connect with new faces and get regular games going without needing to arrange a group of four every time. A good number of Strathaven members kicked off exactly that way. Came along alone, met people, and now play two or three times a week.
Past the Padel Courts
This is where The Court feels different from other padel clubs near Strathaven.
We’re not just a unit with a handful of courts crammed in. The club has a fully serviced bar and restaurant, so you can have a bite and a drink before or after your game without needing to head somewhere else!

An hour of padel turns into an evening out. Just as designed.
And then there’s the Pilates studio, based on site. Padel’s superb for cardio and agility, and Pilates builds the core {strength} and flexibility that enable you move better on court and bounce back more quickly.

A few of our members do both in the same visit. There’s a pro shop too, so when you get hooked (and it usually does happen) you can grab your own racket without needing to buy one online and cross your fingers it turns out right!

Our team really know their stuff, and they’ll talk you through what suits your ability and playing style.
Private events are another string to what we offer here. Whether it’s a team-building event, a birthday, or just something new for a night out with colleagues, padel is easy to arrange around a group because the rules are simple and the matches are snappy.
Throw in the restaurant and bar to that, and you’ve got the whole evening taken care of in one spot!
The Court: A Family Padel Club in Glasgow’s Southside
One thing folk sense from the start about The Court is that it doesn’t seem like a corporate gym or a hire-a-court-and-leave sort of place.
The padel community at The Court has developed naturally, formed by the regulars who come in often, the social sessions that keep bringing new faces together, and the bar and restaurant that give everyone a incentive to hang around long after the last point.
Padel fans who’ve been playing for years rub shoulders with people who only began last month, and that’s the energy we wanted to create from day one.
We run a regular league for members who fancy a bit of structure and good-natured competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that bring together players from across Glasgow and beyond.
Mind you, it’s not entirely about winning.
Padel is a social sport at its core, and some of the finest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is packed with faces who came for a game and stayed for the dinner.
If you’re looking for a padel club in Glasgow that seems like somewhere you truly want to be, come and see what the community’s like for yourself!
We believe you’ll want to sign up.
Padel Compared to Other Sports in Strathaven
Coming from tennis? The main difference is probably the walls!
The ball being kept in play off the glass panels transforms your entire approach about how you plan shot selection in padel.
That powerful shot into the corner that seals it in tennis? In padel, your opponent just takes it off the back wall and the rally continues.
It favours patience and placement over raw power, which is why a lot of tennis players find padel enjoyable but unexpectedly tricky at first!
Squash players often find the changeover a touch more natural, because walls are already a normal part of their game.
Net rather than a shared wall. Open court above you instead of four walls. Glass bounces differently to squash court walls. Those are the big differences.
Squash players typically adapt pretty sharpish though, above all to the volleying up at the net!
And if you’ve never played a racket sport at all, padel is without question the best place to kick off.
It’s more forgiving than tennis, more social than squash (because it’s always doubles), and less physically brutal than five-a-side football while still giving you a genuine workout.
You’ll use up somewhere between 400 and 700 calories in an hour of padel depending on effort level, and it’s much easier on your knees than running on concrete.

What sets The Court different is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not a bolt-on tacked onto a golf range or a gym chain.
Courts. Coaching programme. Bar and restaurant. Every element here was built around racket sports.
If you’ve played padel somewhere else in Strathaven and you’re looking for a club that takes the sport seriously while still keeping things a good time and open, we’d genuinely love to have you!
