Padel Stonehouse

The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club, and if you live in Stonehouse, it’s the natural place to play padel.

The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club, with four panoramic indoor courts built specifically for padel, a restaurant and bar for a bite and a drink after your match, and a welcoming club atmosphere that makes the experience feel like much beyond just booking a court for an hour.

Plenty of the folk who walk through our doors have never gripped a padel racket, and that’s entirely fine. Most of the people who step through our doors haven’t. If you’re already playing padel and looking for better courts and a proper club to call home, you really should come and see what we’ve created!

Underhand Padel Tennis Serve

A Quick Intro to Padel

A racket sport blending tennis and squash, played on an enclosed court about three-quarters the size of a typical tennis court.

Glass walls. Metal fencing. The ball kicks off the walls mid-rally. That opens up angles and shots you’d never get on a tennis court.

The serve is underarm, the format is always doubles, and the rallies are rapid but surprisingly straightforward to follow. Folk sometimes call it the best of tennis and squash rolled into one, and truthfully, that’s a fairly spot-on summary.

Same scoring as tennis: 15, 30, 40, game. One key difference: golden point at deuce, not advantage. One rally resolves it, which keeps matches ticking along and adds a real shot of pressure that makes the tense games really tense.

It’s played with a solid racket rather than a strung one, so you don’t need the same form that makes tennis so punishing for newcomers.

Most folk get the grasp of the basics within their first half hour on court. That fast learning curve? It’s a huge reason why padel is now one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025! It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK, and padel in Glasgow has been out in front in Scotland!

Padel Serve During Tournament

Padel Courts for Stonehouse Residents

Four indoor panoramic padel courts. All inside our 33,000 sq ft space on Glasgow’s south side.

The courts are full-sized at 20m x 10m, with glass back walls and metal cage surrounds, constructed to the same specifications you’d expect at professional tournaments! We’re fully indoors, so no matter what’s going on outside, you can always be on court.

Stonehouse isn’t exactly famous for wall-to-wall sunshine, so being able to get on court year-round makes a real difference. Outdoor courts dotted around the city are fine when the weather’s on your side, but that’s a gamble when you don’t need to?

From 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, there’s plenty of room in the timetable to fit a match around work, family, and everything else. This building wasn’t an afterthought; it was purposely designed to deliver the ideal padel experience.

Well-lit. Fully ventilated. Enough room around every cage.

We didn’t want to squeeze courts into any old room was going in a warehouse or leisure centre. We wanted to create somewhere that truly felt right for padel!

Getting Started with Padel in Stonehouse

If you’ve just Googled “padel Stonehouse,” odds are you’ve never actually had a game!

That’s you? Great news. Padel is one of the easiest racket sports to start getting into from the off.

Underarm serve. No complicated motion to learn first. Rallies get going right away. The court is smaller than a tennis court too, so you’re not running into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play instead of flying off into the distance.

Padel Racket being used in a game.

More hitting. Less chasing. That’s the difference.

You don’t need to carry any kit with you either. We keep rackets and balls in stock for hire at the club, so just rock up in trainers and activewear and you’ll be on court within moments.

Just get online, pick a time, and grab three friends along (padel is a doubles sport, so you’ll require four players in total)! If you’re nervous about seeming like a proper beginner, don’t be.

Padel is geared to be a laugh from the start, and most players find themselves smiling and feeling competitive within their first few sessions.

Glass walls create surprising bounces. They catch everyone out, even folk who’ve been at it for weeks. You deserve a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the instant you set foot on the court, and that’s exactly what we’ve built here.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions in Stonehouse

For anyone who’d like a structured intro to padel rather than working it out on your own, our qualified coaches run sessions for various ability levels. Beginners get walked through all the basics: forehand, backhand, volley, the all-important lob, court positioning, and the fundamentals!

It’s a much faster way to start properly enjoying your games, because understanding where to be and when to move to the net makes a massive difference in padel.

For players who’ve got the basics nailed and want to sharpen your game further, there are sessions focused on more complex shots.

The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin) are two shots that separate casual players from those who properly get the game. We run social sessions too, where you can show up on your own and get put together with fellow players.

The Court Team

It’s one of the best ways to meet folk and get regular matches going without having to organise a group of four every time. A good number of our members from Stonehouse first came to a social session on their own and now happily have a game two or three times a week with friends they met on court.

There’s More Than Padel Courts

Among the padel spaces near Stonehouse, this is almost very likely where The Court looks most different.

Picture the opposite of a warehouse with courts squeezed in, and you’re almost there. The club’s got a fully serviced bar and restaurant, so you can have a bite and a drink before or after your match without having to drive anywhere else.

Chatting During Pickleball Game

The vision was to turn an hour of padel into a whole night out, and that’s just how we set up the club.

We’ve also got a Pilates studio right here! Padel is superb for cardio and agility, while Pilates works the core {strength} and flexibility that allow you play better on court and recover faster.

Some members do both in the a single visit. Smart move. And then there’s the pro shop, ready for when you get hooked (which tends to happen), so you can grab your own racket without taking a chance on an online purchase and hoping it turns out right.

Our team know their rackets, and they’ll walk you through what suits your ability and playing style.

Private events are another side of what we do here. Padel makes a superb team-building activity, birthday event, or just something different for a night out with mates, because the rules are straightforward, the games are short, and it’s straightforward to put together around any group.

With the bar and restaurant right there, you’ve got the complete evening sorted in one place.

The Court: A Community Padel Club in Glasgow’s Southside

Walk into The Court and you’ll sense it from the first step: this isn’t a corporate gym, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place either.

There’s a genuine padel community here, and it’s formed naturally from the people who play often, the social sessions that bring new faces together, and the fact that the bar and restaurant give everyone a excuse to linger after the last point.

Padel devotees who’ve been playing for years mingle with people who only started last month, and that’s the vibe we wanted to create from day one.

For members who fancy a touch of structure and good-natured competition, we run a regular league, and we host tournaments throughout the year that draw in players from across Glasgow and beyond.

Winning is part of it, but it’s far from the whole story.

Padel’s a social sport at its core, and some of the finest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is full with players who came for a game and stayed for the meal!

Finding a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you really fit in isn’t ever easy, but come and see what the community is like here and we believe you’ll notice the difference.

And truthfully, we think once you’ve experienced it, you’ll want to come back.

How Padel Compares to Other Sports in Stonehouse

Tennis player? The number one adjustment is the walls.

When that ball bounces off the glass and stays in play, it transforms your entire approach about how you approach shot selection.

You can’t just fire winners into the corners the way you would on a tennis court, because your opponent can still play the ball off the back wall!

Padel favours patience and placement over raw power, and that’s why loads of tennis players find it a welcome change but also unexpectedly tricky to begin with.

Squash players tend to find the switch a little more natural, because walls are already a normal part of your game.

The big differences are that you’re hitting across a net rather than into the same wall, the court is open above you as opposed to enclosed on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.

Squash players generally adapt quickly though, above all to the volleying at the net.

Never played a racket sport? Padel is genuinely the ideal sport to begin with.

Padel is more forgiving than tennis, more social than squash (because it’s always doubles), and less physically punishing than five-a-side football, all while still giving you a solid workout.

An hour of padel torches somewhere between 400 to 700 calories depending on how hard you push, and it won’t destroy your knees the way running on concrete does.
