The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club, and if you are based in Springburn, it’s the natural choice to play padel.
The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club and it’s something special! Four panoramic indoor courts created for the sport, a restaurant and bar for post-game eats and drinks, and a club atmosphere that makes each session feel like more than just reserving a court.
Never gripped a padel racket? Don’t worry about it. Most of our new visitors haven’t touched one. If you already know the sport and you’re looking for better courts and a genuine club to call home, come and see what we’ve put together.

Padel Explained
Take tennis, mix in a touch of squash, and set it on an enclosed court approximately three-quarters the size of a typical tennis court, and you’ve got padel.
The court is surrounded by glass walls and metal fencing, and the ball can come off those walls mid-rally, which opens up angles and shots you’d never have in tennis.
You serve underarm, you always play doubles, and the games are snappy but dead straightforward to follow. If a mate’s told you it’s the best of tennis and squash in one sport, they’re bang on.
Scoring operates the same as tennis (15, 30, 40, game), with one notable difference: at deuce, padel uses a golden point in place of advantage. One rally settles it, which keeps games ticking along and adds a touch of pressure that makes the tense games really exciting.
The racket is solid, not strung, and that small difference means you don’t need the technique that makes tennis so unforgiving for new players.
Most players grasp the basics within their first half hour playing. That brief learning curve has helped padel developing into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players spread across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. Across the UK, padel is the fastest-growing racket sport on record, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that charge north of the border.

Our Padel Courts Close to Springburn
We’ve got four indoor panoramic padel courts right here at The Court, all housed inside our 33,000 sq ft building on Glasgow’s south side!
Every court is full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage surrounds, built to the same spec you’d expect at professional tournaments. Because we’re fully indoors, you can play any time, without checking the forecast!
Anyone from Springburn knows that wall-to-wall sunshine isn’t ever something you can count on, so year-round indoor play makes a real difference. Outdoor courts dotted around the city are fine when the weather’s nice, but why take that risk when you don’t have to?
Open 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday. 9am to 9pm Sundays. Enough room to fit a game into your week. This building wasn’t a rush job; it was specifically fitted to offer the ideal padel experience.
Courts are well-lit, properly ventilated, and laid out to give you room around the cage.
We wanted to create somewhere that felt purpose-made for padel, not squeeze a couple of courts into whatever room was left in a warehouse or leisure centre.

Padel at The Court: Do You Need Membership?
You don’t need a membership to play at The Court, categorically not!
Anyone can grab a court through Playtomic and come along for a game. Court hire runs from £28 to £40 per hour depending on the time slot, and that covers the court for all four players, so it works out at less than a tenner each for an hour of sport.
For committed players, membership offers lower rates and more straightforward booking.

For £40 per month, the Play membership gives you 25% off court bookings, the option to book 10 days in advance, and access to member sessions and events.
For those expecting to get on court multiple times a week, the Unlimited membership at £120 per month includes unlimited court access, 14-day priority booking, 10% off food and drink, and invitations to members-only events.
How to Reserve a Court on Playtomic
To reserve, use the Playtomic app or website, which is the same platform used by padel clubs all over Europe.
Grab your court and time slot, settle up online, and you’re booked in. About a minute, that’s all it takes.
Go to our Playtomic booking page (https://playtomic.com/clubs/the-court-glasgow) or download the Playtomic app.
Select your date and time (we’re open 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, 9am to 9pm on Sunday). Confirm. Checkout. All online. All that’s left is to arrive, check in, and play. Need to rent rackets or balls? Just let us know when you arrive and we’ll get you ready from the pro shop!
We’d recommend indoor court trainers if you’ve got a pair, but any clean non-marking gym shoes will do!

Padel for Newcomers in Springburn
If you’ve just Googled “padel Springburn,” chances are you’ve never actually tried it!
If that’s you, here’s the brilliant news: padel is one of the easiest racket sports to have fun with fast.
You serve underarm, so there’s no tough overhead serving mechanic to figure out before you can get a rally under way. The court’s smaller than a tennis court as well, so you’re not sprinting into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play instead of sailing off into the distance.

The upshot is more time actually playing the ball and less time chasing after it.
You don’t even need to bring any stuff with you! Padel rackets and balls are on hand to rent at the club, so all you need to bring is sports shoes and sports clothes and you’ll be on court within minutes.
Simply get online, select a time, and gather three mates (padel is a doubles sport, so you’ll need four players). If you’re worried about feeling like a complete beginner, don’t be.
The whole padel experience is geared towards having a great time, and most folk are smiling and getting competitive within their first few matches.
The glass walls produce unpredictable bounces that catch literally all players out, even people who’ve been playing for weeks! If you’re looking for a spot to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you set foot on the court, this is it.

Springburn Padel Coaching and Social Sessions
For anyone who’d want a structured intro to padel rather than muddling it out on your own, our skilled coaches run sessions for different ability levels. Beginners get walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), court positioning, and the fundamentals.
That understanding of where to be and when to move to the net makes a enormous difference in padel, and getting it through coaching is a much faster route to actually getting the most from your sessions.
Already got the basics covered and ready to lift your game further? There are sessions centred on more technical shots too!
The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin) are two that divide casual players from players who really understand the game. We run social sessions too, where you can come along on your own and get put together with local players.

It’s one of the simplest ways to get to know new players and get regular matches going without having to pull together a group of four every time. It’s a tale we come across all the time: members from Springburn who rocked up to a social session on their own and now play two or three times a week with players they met at The Court.
Beyond the Padel Courts
This is where The Court feels different from other padel spaces near Springburn.
We’re not just a shed with courts crammed in. The club has a fully serviced restaurant and bar, so you can grab food and drinks either side of your game without needing to drive somewhere else!

What kicks off as an hour of padel smoothly turns into an evening out, and that’s just how we planned it.
There’s a Pilates studio on site as well. Padel gives the cardio and agility side, while Pilates brings the core strength and flexibility that enable you perform better on court and recover faster.

That’s worth mentioning that quite a few of our members do both in the same visit. And then there’s the pro shop, waiting for the moment you get hooked (which tends to happen), so you can buy your own racket without gambling on an online order and hoping it feels right.

Our staff know their rackets, and they’ll walk you through what matches your level and playing style.
Private events are another side of what we do. If you’re organising a team-building event, a birthday, or just something different for a night out with friends, padel is simple to put together around a group because the rules are easy to pick up and the games are short.
Throw in the restaurant and bar and that’s the entire evening sorted under one roof.
Padel With a Family Feel in Glasgow’s Southside
Something players sense fairly fast about The Court is that it doesn’t have that corporate gym energy, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave sort of place.
The padel community at The Court has grown naturally, fuelled by the players who get on court regularly, the social sessions that keep bringing new faces together, and the restaurant and bar that give everyone a incentive to linger long after the last point.
Padel devotees who’ve been playing for years sit alongside with newcomers who only started last month, and that’s the vibe we wanted to grow from day one.
There’s a regular league for members who enjoy a shot of structure and good-natured competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that draw in players from across Glasgow and beyond.
Competition is half of it, but it’s far from the whole story.
Padel’s a social sport at its core, and some of the greatest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is full with folk who came for a match and stayed for the meal!
If you’re after a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you genuinely belong, come and check out the community for yourself.
We think you’ll want to stick around.
Padel Compared to Other Sports in Springburn
If you’re coming from tennis, the biggest adjustment is the walls.
The ball staying in play off the glass surfaces alters your entire approach about how you approach shot selection in padel.
You can’t just smash winners into the corners the way you would on a tennis court, because your opponent can always return the ball off the back wall!
Patience and placement over raw power. Tennis players find that a welcome change but surprisingly tricky at first.
If you’re coming from squash, the move is a bit more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game.
Instead of hitting into the same wall, you’re hitting across a net. The court is open above you as opposed to boxed in on all sides. And the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.
Squash players typically adapt quickly though, most of all to the volleying at the net.
No racket sport training at all? Truthfully, padel is the best place to begin.
Versus tennis, it’s more forgiving. Compared to squash, it’s more social because it’s always doubles. And against five-a-side football, it’s less physically demanding while still providing a proper workout.
An hour of padel burns somewhere between 400 and 700 calories depending on how hard you’re working, and it doesn’t wreck your knees the way running on concrete does!

Be Part of Springburn’s Growing Padel Community
Springburn’s padel scene has come a remarkably long way in a short time.
A few years ago there was almost nowhere to have a game.
The Court stands out because it’s a dedicated padel club, not a bolt-on to a golf range or a gym chain.
Every element about this place was built around racket sports, from the courts to the coaching programme to the restaurant and bar.
If you’ve tried padel somewhere else in Springburn and you’re looking for a club that takes the sport properly while still keeping it a good time and welcoming, we’d love to have you.
