Living in Sandford and want to play padel? The Court is the best club for you!
The Court is Glasgow’s own padel club, and it’s got four panoramic indoor courts, a bar and restaurant for food and drinks after your match, and a real club vibe that goes well beyond just showing up and reserving a court.
If you’ve never gripped a padel racket before, that’s absolutely fine. Most of the folk who step through our doors haven’t. And if you’re already playing and after better courts and a proper club to call home, come have a look at what we’ve put together.

Padel Explained
Padel is a racket sport that brings together elements of tennis and squash, and it’s played on an enclosed court that’s about three-quarters the size of a regular tennis court.
Glass walls and metal fencing border the court, and the ball can ricochet off them during a rally, which produces angles and shots that simply don’t happen in tennis.
You serve underarm, you always play doubles, and the matches are snappy but remarkably straightforward to follow. Ever heard padel described as the best of tennis and squash in one sport? That’s genuinely a pretty fair description!
Scoring matches tennis (15, 30, 40, game), but there’s a fun twist: at deuce, padel uses a golden point in place of advantage! One deciding rally and the game is won, which keeps games moving and adds a bit of pressure that makes those close games properly gripping.
Solid racket, not strung. So you don’t need the form that makes tennis so punishing for newcomers.
You’ll probably get the feel of the basics within your first half hour playing. This brief learning curve is one of the key reasons padel has grown into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK as well, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that push in Scotland.

Padel Courts for Sandford Players
Four indoor panoramic padel courts. All inside our 33,000 sq ft building on Glasgow’s south side.
The courts are full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage surrounds, fitted to the same specifications you’d see at professional tournaments. We’re fully indoors, so come rain or shine, you can always get a game in.
Sandford’s not exactly known for wall-to-wall sunshine, so being able to have a game all year round? That makes a proper difference! Outdoor courts are fine when the sun’s out. But that’s a gamble you don’t need to take here.
From 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, there’s plenty of room in the week to fit a session around your life. The entire venue was carefully built to give you the best padel experience!
The courts are well-lit, thoroughly ventilated, and positioned just right to give you room around the cage!
Built for padel. Not crammed into leftover warehouse or leisure centre room.

Do You Need to Be a Member to Play Padel at The Court?
Here’s something worth knowing: you don’t need to be a member to play at The Court.
Anyone can book a court through Playtomic and turn up for a session. Court hire’s between £28 and £40 per hour depending on when you book, and that covers all four players, so it’s less than a tenner each for an hour of play.
If you’re planning to come along often, membership makes it more affordable and simpler.

With the Play membership at £40 per month, you’ll get 25% off court bookings, 10-day advance booking, and access to member sessions and events.
If you like to have a game multiple times a week, the Unlimited membership at £120 per month gives you unlimited court access, 14-day priority booking, 10% off food and drink, and invitations to VIP events.

Padel for Beginners in Sandford
If you’ve Googled “padel Sandford,” you’re probably someone who hasn’t actually had a game before.
If that sounds like you, here’s what you should know: padel is one of the easiest racket sports to start getting into fast.
The serve is underarm, which means there’s no complicated serving mechanic to figure out before you can even get a rally started. A smaller court means less running into back corners, and the glass walls work as barriers that keep the ball in play rather than sailing off into the distance.

All of that means more time actually hitting the ball and less time running after it.
You don’t need to bring any gear either. We’ve got rackets and balls available to rent at the venue, so you can rock up in gym shoes and sportswear and be on court within minutes.
Hop online. Choose a time. Grab three friends. Padel is doubles, so you want four people. If you’re hesitant about coming across like a complete beginner, forget about it!
The whole padel experience is designed for having a fantastic time, and most players are laughing and being competitive within their first few sessions.
The glass walls create unexpected bounces that catch everybody out, even folk who’ve been playing for ages. If you’re after a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you step on the court, this is it.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Sandford Residents
Some players want a proper introduction to padel rather than just figuring it out as they go, and that’s precisely what our expert coaches offer with sessions for different ability levels. Coming in from scratch, you’ll be walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), along with court positioning and the fundamentals.
It’s a quicker route to actually having fun in your matches, because learning where to stand and when to approach the net makes a enormous difference in padel.
Already got the basics covered and want to move your game further? There are sessions focused on more complex shots too!
Work on the bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin), and you’ll start to appreciate what separates casual players from folk who really know the game. Social sessions are happening too. Show up on your own and get put together with local players.

Social sessions are one of the quickest ways to connect with people and establish regular games without the need to round up a group of four each time. Plenty of Sandford members began precisely that way. Rocked up alone, met folk, and now play two or three times a week.
There’s More Than Padel Courts
This is where The Court stands out from other padel facilities near Sandford.
This isn’t a unit with courts crammed in. The club has a fully serviced restaurant and bar, so you can eat and drink either side of your game without having to go somewhere else.

What kicks off as an hour of padel smoothly turns into a proper outing, and that’s precisely how we planned it.
And then there’s the Pilates studio, right here on site. Padel develops the cardio and agility side, while Pilates works the core strength and flexibility that enable you play better on court and bounce back faster.

It’s worth noting that plenty of our members combine both in the same visit. And then there’s the pro shop, there for the moment you get hooked (which almost always does happen), so you can buy your own racket without taking a chance on an online purchase and hoping it works out right.

The staff in the pro shop can talk you through what matches your ability and playing style.
Private events are another part of what we offer. Whether it’s a team-building day, a birthday, or just something different for a night out with friends, padel is straightforward to arrange around a group because the rules are straightforward and the games are snappy.
Factor in the bar and restaurant and that’s the entire evening taken care of under one roof.
A Padel Club With a Family Feel in Glasgow’s Southside
Walk into The Court and you’ll pick up on it from the first step: this isn’t a corporate gym, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place either.
There’s a real padel community here, and it’s built up naturally from those who come in week after week, the social sessions that bring new faces together, and the fact that the bar and restaurant give everyone a incentive to stick around after the last point.
Padel enthusiasts who’ve been playing for years mix with people who only started last month, and that’s the feel we wanted to grow from day one.
For members who like a dose of structure and friendly competition, we run a regular league, and we host tournaments throughout the year that pull together players from across Glasgow and beyond.
Winning’s not everything though.
Padel’s a social sport first and foremost, and some of the most memorable nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is full with people who came for a game and stayed for the dinner.
Finding a padel club in Glasgow that seems like somewhere you really fit in isn’t ever easy, but come and see what the community is like here and we think you’ll sense the difference.
Odds are you’ll want to stick around.
Padel Compared to Other Sports in Sandford
If you’ve got a tennis background, the main adjustment is the walls.
In padel, the ball staying in play off the glass changes your entire approach about how you think about shot selection.
You can’t just smash winners into the corners the way you would on a tennis court, because your opponent can retrieve the ball off the back wall.
It rewards patience and placement over raw power, which is why a lot of tennis players find padel a breath of fresh air but also surprisingly tricky at first.
Coming from squash, the move is a touch more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game.
Net as opposed to a shared wall. Open court above you as opposed to four walls. Glass bounces not like squash court walls. Those are the primary differences.
Squash players adapt fast though. The volleying at the net comes second nature.
If you’ve never played a racket sport at all, padel is without question the ideal sport to kick off with!
More forgiving than tennis. More social than squash. Less demanding than five-a-side. Still a genuine workout.
You’ll burn somewhere between 400 and 700 calories in an hour of padel depending on effort level, and it’s way kinder on your knees than running on concrete.

Padel in Sandford: Be Part of a Growing Community
Sandford’s padel scene has come a long way in a surprisingly short time.
Only a few years ago, there was almost nowhere to get on court!
What makes The Court different is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not a side project to a golf range or a gym chain!
Every detail about this place was constructed around racket sports, from the courts to the coaching programme to the restaurant and bar.
If you’ve tried padel somewhere else in Sandford and want a club that takes the sport to heart while still keeping it a laugh and open, we’d really love to have you.
