Padel Robroyston

If you live in Robroyston and you’re on the hunt for somewhere great to play padel, The Court is just the ticket.

The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club and it’s something special! Four panoramic indoor courts designed for the sport, a bar and restaurant for post-game bites and drinks, and a club atmosphere that makes every visit feel like so much past just booking a court.

If you’ve never touched a padel racket before, that’s absolutely fine. The truth is, most of the people who walk through our doors haven’t had a single game. If you’ve been playing for a while and you’re looking for upgraded courts and a genuine club to call home, come and see what we’ve put together at The Court.

Underhand Padel Tennis Serve

What Exactly is Padel?

Padel’s a racket sport that mixes tennis and squash, and it’s played on an enclosed court that’s about three-quarters the size of a typical tennis court.

Glass walls and metal fencing border the court, and the ball can kick off them during a rally, which opens up angles and shots that just don’t appear in tennis.

You serve underarm, it’s always doubles, and the matches fly by but they’re really straightforward to keep up with! If someone’s told you it’s the best of tennis and squash rolled into one, they’re bang on.

Scoring operates the same as tennis (15, 30, 40, game), with one notable difference: at deuce, padel uses a golden point in place of advantage. One rally resolves it, which keeps games moving and adds a bit of pressure that makes the tense games properly exciting.

Solid racket, not strung. That means you don’t need the technique that makes tennis so punishing for beginners.

Most folk are picking up the basics within their first half hour on court, no joke! Brief learning curve. It’s a big reason padel now has over 35 million players across 150 countries, according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK as well, and padel in Glasgow has been spearheading that charge in Scotland.

Robroyston’s Nearest Padel Courts

Our 33,000 sq ft building on Glasgow’s south side is home to four indoor panoramic padel courts, all built for the sport.

Every court is full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage frames, constructed to the same grade you’d see at professional tournaments. Rain or shine, you can get a game in, because The Court is fully indoors.

Robroyston and wall-to-wall sunshine don’t exactly go together. Year-round availability counts. Some of the outdoor courts across the city are great when the weather cooperates, but that’s a risk you don’t need to take here.

Courts are open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s loads of flexibility to fit a game into your week! The entire venue was carefully set up to deliver the finest padel experience.

The courts are well-lit, fully ventilated, and laid out brilliantly to give you space around the cage!

Built for padel. Not crammed into leftover warehouse or leisure centre room.

How to Get Started with Padel in Robroyston

Most people who type “padel Robroyston” into a search engine have never actually played.

If that’s you, here’s what you should know: padel is one of the most accessible racket sports to start enjoying quickly.

Serving is underarm, so you skip that overhead mechanic that requires forever to master in tennis, and rallies get going almost immediately. Smaller court. No sprinting into back corners. Glass walls keep the ball in play instead of shooting off into the distance.

Padel Racket being used in a game.

All of that means you spend more time actually playing the ball and less time running after it!

No equipment to bring. We’ve got padel rackets and balls available to hire at the club, so you can come along in trainers and sportswear and be on court within minutes.

Just hop online, choose a time, and round up three mates along (padel is a doubles sport, so you need four players). There’s no need to be anxious about coming across like a complete beginner.

The whole padel experience is designed around having a fantastic time, and most newcomers are laughing and competitive within their first few games.

Glass walls generate surprising bounces. They catch all players out, even folk who’ve been at it for weeks. You want a place to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you step onto the court, and that’s exactly what we’ve created here.

Robroyston Padel Coaching and Social Sessions

If you want a proper grounding to padel rather than just making it up as you go, our skilled coaches run sessions for different ability levels! Beginners get walked through everything: forehand, backhand, volley, the all-important lob, court positioning, and the fundamentals!

It’s a much shorter route to actually enjoying your games, because understanding where to position yourself and when to push up to the net makes a enormous difference in padel!

Got the basics nailed? Sessions on more advanced shots will lift your game to the next level.

The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin) are two that set apart casual players from people who really know the game. Social sessions are happening too. Turn up on your own and get put together with local players.

The Court Team

Great way to connect with people. Regular sessions without the headache of arranging four players every time. Loads of Robroyston members began just that way. Showed up alone, met new faces, and now have a game two or three times a week.

More Going On Than Padel Courts

Among the padel facilities near Robroyston, this is likely where The Court looks most different.

Imagine the polar opposite of a warehouse with courts stuck in, and you’re getting warm. A fully serviced bar and restaurant sits just at the heart of the club, so you can eat and drink either side of your game without having to head somewhere else.

Chatting During Pickleball Game

What starts as an hour of padel easily turns into a proper outing, and that’s precisely how we designed it.

There’s a Pilates studio on site alongside the courts. Padel is brilliant for cardio and agility, while Pilates strengthens the core {strength} and flexibility that allow you move better on court and bounce back sooner.

It’s worth knowing that plenty of our members combine both in the same visit. There’s a pro shop too, so if you get hooked (which tends to happen) you can grab your own racket without having to buy one online and pray it feels right.

Our team can talk you through what suits your level and play style.

We do private events too. Team building. Birthdays. A alternative night out with colleagues. Padel’s dead easy to set up for groups: straightforward rules, short games.

Restaurant and bar on site too. Full evening covered in one spot.

The Court: A Community Padel Club in Glasgow’s Southside

One thing people notice fairly fast about The Court is it doesn’t feel like a corporate gym or a hire-a-court-and-go sort of place.

Proper padel community. It’s grown naturally from those who come in week after week, social sessions that bring new faces together, and a restaurant and bar that gives everyone a reason to stick around after the last point.

The atmosphere we wanted from day one was exactly this: padel lovers who’ve been playing for years rubbing shoulders with players who only began last month.

Regular league for members who fancy structure and good-natured competition. Tournaments throughout the year attracting players from across Glasgow and beyond.

Winning is one side of it, but it’s not the whole point.

Social sport at its core. Some of the greatest nights here are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is buzzing with faces who came for a match and stayed for the meal.

If you’re on the hunt for a padel club in Glasgow that comes across like somewhere you truly fit in, come and see what the community’s like for yourself!

And honestly, we reckon once you’ve felt it, you’ll want to come back.

Padel Compared to Other Sports in Robroyston

If you’re coming from tennis, the main adjustment is the walls.

In padel, the ball remaining in play off the glass changes absolutely everything about how you approach shot selection!

No blasting winners into corners. Your opponent plays the ball off the back wall.

Padel rewards patience and placement over raw power, which is why a lot of tennis players find it a welcome change but also remarkably tricky at first.

If you’re coming from squash, the move is a little more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game.

The main differences are that you’re hitting across a net rather than into the same wall, the court is open above you as opposed to enclosed on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than off a squash court wall!

For the most part, squash players adapt to padel without much trouble, particularly with the volleying at the net.

And if you’ve never played a racket sport at all, padel is without question the perfect place to begin.

Versus tennis, it’s more forgiving. Versus squash, it’s more social because it’s always doubles. And versus five-a-side football, it’s less physically punishing while still providing a genuine workout.

An hour of padel burns somewhere between 400 to 700 calories depending on how hard you push, and it won’t hammer your knees the way running on concrete does.

Padel is Taking Off in Robroyston

Not long ago, Robroyston’s padel scene scarcely existed. Now it’s come a genuinely long way.

Just a few years ago, there was practically nowhere to have a game!

The Court separates itself because it’s a dedicated padel club, not a afterthought to a golf range or a gym chain.

Courts. Coaching programme. Bar and restaurant. All of it here was designed around racket sports.

Played padel elsewhere in Robroyston? After a club that takes the sport seriously but keeps it a good time and warm? We’d love to have you.
