The Court is Glasgow’s premier padel club, and if you live in Port Glasgow, it’s the ideal choice to play padel.
The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club, with four panoramic indoor courts built purely for padel, a restaurant and bar for food and drinks after your game, and a welcoming club atmosphere that makes your visit feel like much more than just hiring a court for an hour.
Most of the folk who walk through our doors have never picked up a padel racket, and that’s absolutely fine. Genuinely, most of the people who walk through our doors are in the very same boat! If you’re already into padel and searching for better courts and a proper club to call home, you really should come and see what we’ve put together!

What is Padel?
Padel’s a racket sport that blends tennis and squash, and it’s played on an enclosed court that’s roughly three-quarters the size of a regular tennis court.
Glass walls and metal fencing wrap around the court, and the ball can kick off the glass during a rally, which creates angles and shots that just don’t appear in tennis.
You serve underarm, it’s always doubles, and the rallies move fast but they’re really easy to follow! Heard padel described as the best of tennis and squash combined? That’s honestly a pretty spot-on description!
Scoring works the same as tennis (15, 30, 40, game), with one notable difference: at deuce, padel uses a golden point rather than advantage. One rally settles the whole game, and it keeps matches moving and makes those close games properly gripping!
The racket’s solid as opposed to strung, which means you don’t need the same technique that makes tennis so difficult for newcomers!
Most folk are learning the basics within their first half hour on court, genuinely! Brief learning curve. It’s a large reason padel now has over 35 million players across 150 countries, according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK, and padel in Glasgow has been one of the cities leading the way in Scotland!

The Court’s Padel Courts Near Port Glasgow
At The Court, you’ll find four indoor panoramic padel courts, all housed inside our 33,000 sq ft venue on Glasgow’s south side.
The courts are full-sized at 20m x 10m, with glass back walls and metal cage enclosures, built to the same standards you’d see at professional tournaments! Because we’re fully indoors, you can play come rain or come shine, whatever the weather!
Anyone from Port Glasgow understands that wall-to-wall sunshine isn’t exactly a given, so year-round indoor play makes a big difference. The outdoor courts scattered around the city are decent when the weather’s playing ball, but that’s always a chance, and it’s one you simply don’t need to take here.
Courts are open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s loads of flexibility to fit a game into your week! The entire space was purposely set up to create the finest padel experience.
The courts are well-lit, thoroughly ventilated, and set up to give you space around the cage.
We could’ve st\uffed a couple of courts into a warehouse or tagged them onto a leisure centre, but that’s not what we wanted. We wanted to design somewhere that felt right for padel.

Starting Padel in Port Glasgow
“Padel Port Glasgow” brought you here, and if you’ve never actually tried it before, you’re in very good company.
If that’s your story, here’s the bit that changes everything: padel is one of the easiest racket sports to start having fun with from your very first session.
You serve underarm, so there’s no complicated overhead serving action to learn before you can get a rally going. The court is smaller than a tennis court too, so you’re not sprinting into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play instead of sailing off into the distance.

Add all of that up and you get more time actually connecting with the ball and far less time sprinting after it.
You don’t even need to pack any equipment with you! We’ve got padel rackets and balls on hand to pick up at the club, so you can turn up in sports shoes and sports clothes and be on court playing within moments!
Simply get online, pick a time, and gather three mates along (padel is a doubles sport, so you’ll want four players in total)! If the thought of feeling like a complete beginner is making you hesitate, bin that worry today.
Padel’s set up around having a fantastic time. Most players are laughing and into it within their first few sessions.
Those glass walls generate bounces that nobody can fully predict, and they catch everyone out, from first-timers to people who’ve been on court for weeks. You deserve a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the moment you step onto the court, and that’s exactly what we’ve put together here.

Padel Lessons and Social Sessions for Port Glasgow Residents
For those who’d rather have a structured introduction to padel rather than working it out on your own, our qualified coaches run sessions for all ability levels. Beginners get walked through all the basics: forehand, backhand, volley, the all-important lob, court positioning, and the fundamentals!
It’s a far shorter way to begin properly getting the most from your games, because knowing where to be and when to come to the net makes a big difference in padel.
For players who’ve got the basics sorted and are ready to develop their game further, there are sessions centred on more complex shots.
The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin) are two that set apart casual players from people who really grasp the game. If you can’t always have a group of four ready, our social sessions let you turn up on your own and get matched with other players.

Best way to meet folk. Regular matches without the hassle of arranging four players every time. It’s a pattern we come across all the time: members from Port Glasgow who showed up to a social session on their own and now get on court two or three times a week with friends they met on court.
The Full Club Experience
This is where The Court separates itself from other padel venues near Port Glasgow.
We’re categorically not just a shed with courts in it! With a fully serviced restaurant and bar right here, you can grab food and drinks before or after your session without having to drive anywhere else.

The vision was to turn an hour of padel into a proper evening out, and that’s precisely how we planned the club.
There’s a Pilates studio on site as well. Padel’s brilliant for cardio and agility, and Pilates builds the core strength and flexibility that help you move better on court and bounce back more quickly!

A few of our members do both in the one visit. Then there’s the pro shop, ready for the moment you get hooked (which usually does happen), so you can buy your own racket without rolling the dice on an online order and hoping it turns out right.

Our staff know their rackets, and they’ll walk you through what suits your ability and playing style.
We host private events too. Whether it’s a team-building event, a birthday, or just something new for a night out with pals, padel is easy to put together around a group because the rules are simple and the matches are snappy.
With the restaurant and bar right there, you’ve got the complete evening taken care of in one spot.
Padel With a Community Feel in Glasgow’s Southside
Something players spot from the start about The Court is that it doesn’t have that corporate gym vibe, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave type of place.
A genuine padel community has grown here naturally, shaped by the regulars who get on court week in week out, the social sessions that bring new faces together, and the restaurant and bar that give everyone a reason to stick around after the last point.
Folk who’ve been playing padel for years mix with players who only started last month, and that’s precisely the feel we wanted to create from day one!
For members who enjoy a touch of structure and good-natured competition, we run a regular league, and we host tournaments throughout the year that draw in players from across Glasgow and beyond.
But it’s not purely about winning.
Padel’s a social sport at its core, and some of the most memorable nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is buzzing with players who came for a match and stayed for the food.
Finding a padel club in Glasgow that comes across like somewhere you genuinely belong isn’t exactly easy, but come and see what the community is like here and we believe you’ll notice the difference.
We’re fairly convinced you’ll want to stick around.
How Padel Stacks Up Against Other Sports in Port Glasgow
Coming from tennis? The biggest difference is definitely the walls!
When that ball kicks off the glass and stays in play, it changes your entire approach about how you consider shot selection.
Different from tennis, you can’t just fire winners into the corners, because your opponent can retrieve the ball off the back wall.
Padel values patience and placement over raw power, and that’s why many tennis players find it a breath of fresh air but also surprisingly tricky to begin with.
If you’re coming from squash, the changeover is a bit more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game.
The big differences are that you hit across a net instead of into the same wall, the court is open above you instead of boxed in on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass compared to a squash court wall.
The great news for squash players is that the adaptation is generally pretty sharpish, especially the volleying at the net.
If you’ve never played a racket sport at all, padel is genuinely the smartest sport to start with!
Padel is more forgiving than tennis, more social than squash (because it’s always doubles), and less physically demanding than five-a-side footy, all while still giving you a proper workout.
An hour of padel burns somewhere between 400 and 700 calories depending on how hard you’re pushing, and it doesn’t ruin your knees the way running on concrete does.

The Growing Padel Community in Port Glasgow
Port Glasgow’s padel scene has come a really long way in a relatively short time!
Not long ago, finding a game of padel in Port Glasgow was practically impossible.
Some of spots run padel as a bolt-on to a golf range or gym chain, but The Court is different: we’re a dedicated padel club, plain and simple.
From the courts to the coaching programme to the restaurant and bar, every element about The Court was built around racket sports.
If you’ve played padel somewhere else in Port Glasgow and want a club that takes the sport seriously while still keeping it fun and warm, we’d love to have you.
