Living in Oatlands and looking to play padel? The Court is the ultimate place for you!
The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club and it’s one of a kind! Four panoramic indoor courts designed for the sport, a restaurant and bar for post-game food and drinks, and a club atmosphere that makes every visit feel like more than just reserving a court.
Never had a go at padel? No problem. Most of the players who come through haven’t either. If you’re already hooked on padel and searching for better courts and a proper club to call home, you should come and see what we’ve put together!

A Quick Guide to Padel
Padel is a racket sport that blends elements of tennis and squash, and it’s played on an enclosed court that’s about three-quarters the size of a standard tennis court.
The court is lined by glass walls and metal fencing, and because the ball can kick off those walls during a rally, it opens up angles and shots that you’d never see in tennis.
You serve underarm, it’s always doubles, and the games are fast-paced but they’re really straightforward to follow! If you’ve ever heard it described as the best of tennis and squash in a single sport, that’s a reasonably spot-on summary.
Scoring’s the same as tennis (15, 30, 40, game), but there’s one big difference: at deuce, padel uses a golden point rather than advantage. A single rally resolves everything, and it keeps games flowing while injecting just enough pressure to make those tight games properly gripping.
You play with a solid racket rather than a strung one, so you don’t need the precision that makes tennis so hard for beginners.
Most folk are learning the basics within their first half hour on court, no joke! This fast learning curve is one of the primary reasons padel has grown into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK, and padel in Glasgow has been right at the front in Scotland!

The Court’s Padel Courts Near Oatlands
Four indoor panoramic padel courts. All inside our 33,000 sq ft building on Glasgow’s south side.
Each court is full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage enclosures, all fitted to the same specifications used at professional tournaments. Because we’re fully indoors, you can get a game in any time, whatever the weather!
Living in Oatlands, you know the weather isn’t always predictable, so being able to have a game of padel year-round at The Court makes a real difference. The outdoor courts dotted around the city are fine when the weather’s decent, but that’s always a chance, and it’s one you really don’t need to take here.
We’re open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s bags of flexibility to fit a session into your schedule. The space itself was deliberately designed to create the ideal padel experience.
You’ll find the courts are well-lit, fully ventilated, and thoughtfully spaced to give you enough room around the cage.
The idea was to design somewhere that felt proper for padel, not to cram a few courts into leftover floor space in a warehouse or leisure centre.

Padel at The Court: Do You Need Membership?
Here’s something worth knowing: you don’t need to be a member to play at The Court.

The Play membership costs £40 per month and gives you 25% off court bookings, 10-day advance booking, and access to member sessions and events.
If you’re the type who wants to get on court several times a week, the Unlimited membership at £120 per month gets you unlimited court access, 14-day priority booking, 10% off food and drink, and invitations to members-only events!

New to Padel in Oatlands?
Most people who type in “padel Oatlands” have never actually been on court.
If that’s you, here’s the great news: padel is one of the simplest racket sports to pick up from the off.
Serving is underarm, so you bypass that overhand motion that requires so long to master in tennis, and rallies kick off straight away. The court is smaller than a tennis court too, so you’re not dashing into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play rather than firing off into the distance.

All of that means more time actually playing the ball and less time sprinting after it.
You don’t need to carry any kit either. We keep padel rackets and balls on hand for loan at the club, so just come along in gym shoes and activewear and you’ll be on court within no time.
Go online. Choose a time. Grab three mates. Padel is doubles, so you need four players. Worried about feeling out of place? Don’t be.
The whole padel experience is built around having a great time, and most players are laughing and getting competitive within their first few matches.
The glass walls produce unexpected bounces that catch everybody out, even players who’ve been playing for weeks. If you’re on the hunt for a spot to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you walk onto the court, this is it.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Oatlands Residents
If you’d sooner have a proper grounding to padel instead of just figuring it out as you go, our qualified coaches run sessions for various ability level. For beginner, you’ll get walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), court positioning, and the basics.
Faster route to getting the most from your sessions. Knowing where to be and when to push up to the net changes everything in padel.
Got the basics sorted? Sessions on more technical shots will lift your game to the next level.
The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin) are two that set apart casual players from those who really know the game. We also run social sessions where you can come along on your own and get grouped with local players, which is fantastic!

It’s one of the easiest ways to meet new players and get regular matches going without having to pull together four players every single time! Plenty of our members from Oatlands first showed up to a social session on their own and now regularly have a game two or three times a week with folk they met on court.
More Going On Than Padel Courts
Here’s where The Court really distances itself from other padel spaces near Oatlands.
Think of the polar opposite of a shed with courts stuck in, and you’re almost there. The club’s got a fully serviced restaurant and bar, so you can have a bite and a drink either side of your session without needing to drive anywhere else.

What kicks off as an hour of padel naturally turns into an evening out, and that’s exactly how we planned it.
And right next door there’s the Pilates studio, also on site. Padel’s superb for cardio and agility, and Pilates works the core strength and flexibility that allow you perform better on court and recover more quickly!

It’s worth mentioning that quite a few of our members do both in the same visit. We also have a pro shop on site, so if you get hooked (which almost always does happen) you can buy your own racket without needing to buy online and pray if it’ll work out right.

Our staff can walk you through what matches your ability and play style.
Private events are another part of what we do here. If you’re after a team-building day, a birthday, or just something new for a night out with friends, padel is dead easy to organise around a group because the rules are straightforward and the matches are quick.
Include the restaurant and bar to that, and you’ve got the whole evening sorted in one venue!
A Real Padel Community in Glasgow’s Southside
Walk into The Court and you’ll pick up on it immediately: this isn’t a corporate gym, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place by any stretch.
There’s a proper padel community here, and it’s grown naturally from the players who play regularly, the social sessions bringing new faces together, and the bar and restaurant giving everyone a incentive to hang around after the last point!
Padel enthusiasts who’ve been playing for years mingle with folk who only picked it up last month, and that’s the feel we wanted to create from day one.
A regular league gives members a shot of structure and friendly competition, while tournaments throughout the year draw in players from across Glasgow and beyond.
That said, it’s not all about winning.
A few of the finest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score, the restaurant is buzzing with people who came for a game and stayed for the dinner, and padel is doing what it does best: pulling people together.
For those on the hunt for a padel club in Glasgow that comes across like somewhere you actually fit in, we’d love you to come and check out the community for yourself.
We suspect you’ll want to join.
Choosing Between Padel and Other Sports in Oatlands
If you’re coming from tennis, the main adjustment is the walls.
In padel, the ball being kept in play off the glass transforms absolutely everything about how you plan shot selection!
You can’t just blast winners into the corners the way you would on a tennis court, because your opponent can still retrieve the ball off the back wall!
Padel prizes patience and placement over raw power, and that’s why many tennis players find it enjoyable but also surprisingly tricky to get used to.
Squash background? The move’s a bit more natural. You already know walls are part of the game.
The big differences are that you’re hitting across a net instead of into the same wall, the court is open above you as opposed to closed off on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than off a squash court wall!
Squash players tend to adapt pretty sharpish though, above all to the volleying at the net.
If you’ve never played any racket sport before, padel is genuinely the ideal one to kick off with.
Padel is more forgiving than tennis, more social than squash (because it’s always doubles), and less physically gruelling than five-a-side footy, all while still giving you a solid workout.
You’ll use up somewhere between 400 and 700 calories in an hour of padel depending on how hard you go, and it’s loads kinder on your knees than running on concrete.

Be Part of Oatlands’s Growing Padel Community
Not long ago, Oatlands’s padel scene hardly existed. Now it’s come a genuinely long way.
A few years ago there was almost nowhere to get on court.
What makes The Court different is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not a afterthought to a golf range or a gym chain.
Every single part about this place was created around racket sports, from the courts to the coaching programme to the restaurant and bar.
For players who’ve tried padel elsewhere in Oatlands and are in need of a club that takes the sport seriously while remaining a laugh and open, we’d love to have you.
