For anyone in Milngavie on the hunt for the ideal place to play padel, The Court is the answer, the nearest dedicated padel club.
The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club and it’s something special! Four panoramic indoor courts built for the sport, a bar and restaurant for post-game food and drinks, and a club atmosphere that makes every visit feel like so much past just hiring a court.
Not held a padel racket yet? That’s totally fine! Most of the folk who walk through our doors haven’t. If you already know the sport and you’re after better courts and a proper club to call home, come and have a look at what we’ve put together.

A Quick Intro to Padel
Padel is a racket sport that mixes elements of tennis and squash, played on an enclosed court around three-quarters the size of a regular tennis court.
The court’s enclosed by glass walls and metal fencing, and here’s the fun bit: the ball can bounce off those walls mid-rally, producing angles and shots you’d never find in tennis!
You serve underarm, it’s always played as doubles, and the matches are quick but remarkably straightforward to follow. Has someone told you padel described as the best of tennis and squash rolled into one? That’s genuinely a pretty fair way to put it!
Scoring works the same as tennis (15, 30, 40, game), with one major difference: at deuce, padel uses a golden point rather than advantage. One rally decides it, which keeps matches moving and adds a dose of pressure that makes the nail-biting games really exciting.
You play with a solid racket instead of a strung one, so you don’t need the precision that makes tennis so unforgiving for new players.
You’ll probably get the feel of the basics within your first half hour of play. This brief learning curve is a major part of why padel is now one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million padel players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. Across the UK, padel is the fastest-growing racket sport around, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that charge north of the border.

The Court’s Padel Courts Near Milngavie
At The Court, you’ll find four indoor panoramic padel courts, all housed within our 33,000 sq ft space on Glasgow’s south side.
The courts are full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage frames, fitted to the same standards you’d see at professional tournaments. Being fully indoors means you can be on court in any conditions.
Milngavie’s not exactly known for great weather, so being able to have a game all year makes a genuine difference. Outdoor courts do the job when the sun’s out. But that’s a chance you don’t need to take at The Court.
Our opening hours run from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, giving you lots of flexibility to fit a session around work and family life. Purpose-built for the ultimate padel experience.
Well-lit. Thoroughly ventilated. Enough space around every cage.
We could’ve crammed a couple of courts into a warehouse or tagged them onto a leisure centre, but that’s not what we set out to do. We wanted to put together somewhere that felt right for padel.

How to Get Started with Padel in Milngavie
If you’ve typed in “padel Milngavie,” you’re probably someone who hasn’t actually tried it before.
That’s you? Great news. Padel is one of the simplest racket sports to start having fun with from the off.
Because you serve underarm, there’s no tricky overhead serving motion to learn before you can get a rally under way! The court’s smaller than a tennis court too, so you’re not racing into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play instead of flying off into the distance!

The outcome is more time actually striking the ball and less time running after it.
And here’s another win: you don’t need to carry any equipment. Rackets and balls are on hand to pick up at the club, so the only thing you need to bring is trainers and activewear and you’ll be on court within moments.
Simply jump online, grab a time, and bring three pals along (padel is a doubles game, so you want four players). If you’re anxious about feeling like a proper beginner, don’t be.
Padel is built to be fun from the word go, and most players find themselves laughing and being competitive within their first few rallies.
Don’t forget that even people who’ve been playing for weeks get caught out by the surprising bounces the glass walls generate. If you’re looking for a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you step onto the court, this is it.

Padel Lessons and Social Sessions for Milngavie Players
If you fancy a proper intro to padel rather than just figuring it out as you go, our skilled coaches run sessions for all ability levels. Coming in from scratch, you’ll be walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), along with court positioning and the basics.
It’s a shorter route to actually having fun in your games, because knowing where to position yourself and when to come to the net makes a enormous difference in padel.
For players who’ve mastered the basics and are wanting to push further, there are sessions that zero in on more technical shots.
The bandeja, a controlled overhead that keeps you at the net, and the vibora, a more aggressive version with spin. Those two separate casual players from players who properly grasp the game. If you don’t have a group of four ready, our social sessions let you rock up on your own and get put together with local players.

It’s one of the easiest ways to meet people and get regular games going without needing to round up a group of four every time. Many of our members from Milngavie first came to a social session on their own and now consistently get on court two or three times a week with friends they met on court.
Not Just Padel Courts
This is almost very likely the part that sets The Court apart from other padel clubs near Milngavie.
This isn’t a warehouse with courts squeezed in. Fully serviced bar and restaurant on site. Eat and drink either side of your session. No need to drive anywhere else.

What starts as an hour of padel quickly turns into an evening out, and that’s precisely how we designed it.
There’s a Pilates studio on site alongside the courts. Padel handles cardio and agility. Pilates develops the core strength and flexibility to move better on court and bounce back faster.

A number of our members do both in the one visit. There’s a pro shop too, so when you get hooked (and it usually does happen) you can buy your own racket without having to buy one online and hope it turns out right!

The team can walk you through what matches your ability and playing style.
And then there are private events, another element of what we offer at The Court. Whether it’s a team-building event, a birthday, or just something new for a night out with friends, padel is straightforward to organise around a group because the rules are straightforward and the matches are short.
Factor in the restaurant and bar, and you’ve got the complete evening taken care of in one spot.
Glasgow Southside’s Padel Club With a Community Feel
One thing players sense early on about The Court is that it genuinely doesn’t feel like a corporate gym or a hire-a-court-and-leave type of place!
A real padel community has formed here naturally, fuelled by the folk who get on court regularly, the social sessions that bring new faces together, and the restaurant and bar that give everyone a incentive to stick around after the last point.
Players who’ve been playing padel for years mingle with people who only picked it up last month, and that’s exactly the feel we wanted to cultivate from day one!
We run a regular league for members who enjoy a shot of structure and healthy competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that bring together players from across Glasgow and beyond.
Winning’s not everything though.
At its core, padel is a social sport, and some of the finest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is buzzing with players who came for a match and stayed for the dinner.
On the hunt for a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you fit in? Come and see the community for yourself.
We reckon you’ll want to join.
Padel or Other Sports in Milngavie?
Tennis player? The number one adjustment is the walls.
When that ball bounces off the glass and stays in play, it changes your entire approach about how you think about shot selection.
No hitting winners into corners. Your opponent plays the ball off the back wall.
It prizes patience and placement over raw power, which is why a lot of tennis players find padel a welcome change but also remarkably tricky at first.
Coming from squash? The move’s a bit more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game!
Instead of hitting into the same wall, you’re hitting across a net. The court is open above you instead of enclosed on all sides. And the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.
Squash players typically adapt quickly though, most of all to the volleying at the net.
Never played a racket sport? Padel is honestly the perfect sport to kick off with.
More forgiving than tennis. More social than squash. Less gruelling than five-a-side. Still a proper workout.
An hour of padel burns somewhere between 400 to 700 calories depending on how hard you go, and it doesn’t hammer your knees the way running on concrete does.
