For folk in Larkhall on the hunt for a proper spot to play padel, The Court is the answer, Larkhall’s nearest dedicated padel club.
Walk into The Court and you’ll feel the difference immediately. Four panoramic indoor courts created for padel, a bar and restaurant where you can grab something to eat after your game, and a club atmosphere that makes the whole visit feel like far past just booking a court for an hour.
If you haven’t tried padel before, you’re in good company. Most of our new visitors were in the same position. If you’re already playing padel and searching for better courts and a genuine club to call home, you really should come and see what we’ve created!

What Exactly is Padel?
Picture a racket sport that grabs the best parts of tennis and squash and sets them on an enclosed court around three-quarters the size of a standard tennis court.
Glass walls and metal fencing surround the court, and when the ball ricochets off those walls mid-rally, it opens up angles and shots that tennis just can’t match.
You serve underarm, it’s always doubles, and the matches are fast-paced but they’re remarkably simple to keep up with! If you’ve heard padel described as the best of tennis and squash in a single sport, that’s a pretty spot-on assessment.
Scoring matches tennis at 15, 30, 40, game, but padel adds a twist at deuce: a single golden point stands in for advantage. A single rally resolves the game, and it keeps games moving while bringing just enough pressure to make those tight games genuinely exciting.
Solid racket, not strung. That means you don’t need the mechanics that makes tennis so punishing for newcomers.
Most folk are getting the basics within their first half hour on court, genuinely! That brief learning curve has played a big part in helping padel developing into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players spread across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK too, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that push in Scotland.

Padel Courts Close to Larkhall
Four indoor panoramic padel courts. All inside our 33,000 sq ft facility on Glasgow’s south side.
At 20m x 10m, the courts are full-sized with glass back walls and metal cage enclosures, built to the same grade you’d see at professional tournaments. Fully indoors. Have a game rain or shine.
Anyone from Larkhall appreciates that wall-to-wall sunshine isn’t really on the cards, so year-round indoor play makes a real difference. Outdoor courts work when the sun’s out. But that’s a roll of the dice you don’t need to take at The Court.
We’re open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s enough flexibility to fit a session in around work and family. This facility wasn’t a rush job; it was purposely set up to offer the ideal padel experience.
You’ll find the courts are well-lit, properly ventilated, and thoughtfully spaced to give you plenty of space around the cage.
We wanted to build somewhere that felt right for padel, not stuff a couple of courts into whatever space was left in a warehouse or leisure centre.

Is Membership Required to Play at The Court?
For the record, you don’t need to be a member to book a court at The Court.
Any member of the public can book a court through Playtomic and show up for a match. Court hire runs from £28 to £40 per hour depending on the time slot, and that’s for four players, so it works out at less than a tenner each for an hour of sport!
Playing often? Membership makes it cheaper and more straightforward.

The Play membership comes in at £40 per month and gives you 25% off court bookings, 10-day advance booking, and access to member sessions and events.
For players who plan to play multiple times a week, the Unlimited membership at £120 per month gets you unlimited court access with 14-day priority booking, 10% off food and drink, and invitations to VIP events.
How to Get a Court on the Playtomic App
The Playtomic app or website is how you book, and it’s the same system padel clubs rely on right across Europe.
Pick a court. Pick a time. Settle up online. You’re in. From first click to confirmation, the whole process takes about a minute.
Head to our Playtomic booking page (https://playtomic.com/clubs/the-court-glasgow) or download the Playtomic app.
Select the date and time that suits you (we’re open 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, 9am to 9pm Sunday). Confirm. Pay. Done. You show up, check in, and the game begins. If you need to rent rackets or balls, let us know on arrival and we’ll kit you out from the pro shop.
Indoor court shoes are the top choice if you have them, but don’t worry if not, any clean non-marking gym shoes will do the business.

Padel for Beginners in Larkhall
“Padel Larkhall” gets searched a lot. Most folk behind those clicks have never had a game.
If that’s you, here’s what you should know: padel is one of the friendliest racket sports to start getting into from the off.
Underarm serve. No overhand technique to figure out before you start. Rallies begin right away. A smaller court means less chasing into back corners, and the glass walls act as barriers that keep the ball in play rather than flying off into the distance.

All of that means you get more time actually hitting the ball and less time chasing after it!
You don’t need to bring any kit with you either. We’ve got rackets and balls available to borrow at the club, so you can turn up in sports shoes and sports clothes and be on court playing within no time!
Get online. Choose a time. Bring three mates. Padel is doubles, so you need four players. If the thought of feeling like a complete beginner is holding you back, drop that worry straight away.
The whole padel experience is all about having a great time, and most players are laughing and feeling competitive within their first few rallies!
The glass walls throw up unexpected bounces that catch all players out, even people who’ve been playing for months. If you’re searching for a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you walk onto the court, come no further!

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Larkhall Residents
A lot of players want a proper introduction to padel rather than just working it out as they go, and that’s just what our skilled coaches offer with sessions for different ability levels. Coming in from scratch, you’ll be walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), along with court positioning and the fundamentals.
Quicker route to fun. Understanding where to position yourself and when to come to the net changes your whole experience in padel.
For players who’ve nailed the basics and are wanting to develop further, there are sessions that concentrate on more advanced shots.
The bandeja, a controlled overhead that keeps you at the net, and the vibora, a more aggressive version with spin. Those two separate casual players from people who really grasp the game. We also run social sessions where you can come along on your own and get paired with local players, which is brilliant!

Social sessions are one of the quickest ways to meet people and establish regular games without the need to arrange a group of four each time. Loads of our members from Larkhall started out by turning up to a social session on their own and now have a game two or three times a week with folk they met on court.
More to Offer Than Padel Courts
This is where The Court stands out from other padel facilities near Larkhall.
We’re not just a unit with courts inside. The club’s got a fully serviced restaurant and bar, so you can grab food and drinks either side of your session without needing to go anywhere else.

It turns an hour of padel into a proper evening out, and that’s precisely how we built it.
We’ve also got a Pilates studio in the building! Padel’s superb for cardio and agility, and Pilates develops the core {strength} and flexibility that enable you move better on court and bounce back sooner.

Quite a few of our members pair both in the same visit. Pro shop on site. Get hooked (it almost always does happen) and you can buy your own racket without the gamble of ordering online.

The team can walk you through what matches your level and playing style.
Private events are another part of what we run at The Court. If you’re looking for a team-building day, a birthday, or just a fresh idea for a night out with mates, padel’s dead easy to organise around a group because the rules are straightforward and the matches are quick.
Include the restaurant and bar to that, and you’ve got the entire evening covered in one place!
Club Padel in the Heart of Glasgow’s Southside
Something people pick up on fairly fast about The Court is that it doesn’t have that corporate gym energy, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place.
There’s a genuine padel community here, and it’s built up naturally from the folk who come in week in week out, the social sessions that bring new faces together, and the reality that the bar and restaurant give everyone a excuse to stay after the last point.
Players who’ve been playing padel for years mingle with folk who only picked it up last month, and that’s exactly the vibe we wanted to grow from day one!
There’s a regular league for members who enjoy a shot of structure and friendly competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that draw in players from across Glasgow and beyond.
That said, it’s not purely about winning.
Padel’s a social sport at heart, and some of the most memorable nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is packed with folk who came for a game and stayed for the food.
If you’re after a padel club in Glasgow that seems like somewhere you actually fit in, come and check out the community for yourself.
We believe you’ll want to stick around, no question!
Comparing Padel and Other Sports in Larkhall
Tennis convert? The largest adjustment is the walls.
When that ball kicks off the glass and stays in play, it alters your entire approach about how you consider shot selection.
You can’t just blast winners into the corners the way you would on a tennis court, because your opponent can always play the ball off the back wall!
Padel favours patience and placement over raw power, which is why a good number of tennis players find it a welcome change but also remarkably tricky at first.
Coming from squash, the transition is a little more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game.
The primary differences are that you’re hitting across a net rather than into the same wall, the court is open above you as opposed to closed off on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.
Squash players typically adapt without much trouble though, most of all to the volleying at the net.
If you’ve never played any racket sport in your life, padel is honestly the smartest sport to begin with.
It’s more forgiving than tennis, more social than squash (always doubles), and less physically gruelling than five-a-side footy, but you still get a proper workout!
An hour of padel uses up somewhere between 400 and 700 calories depending on how hard you’re pushing, and it doesn’t wreck your knees the way running on concrete does!
