If you are based in Hurlford and you’re looking for somewhere proper to play padel, The Court is the place for you.
The Court is Glasgow’s own padel club, and it’s got four panoramic indoor courts, a bar and restaurant for food and drinks after your match, and a real club vibe that is so much more than just turning up and reserving a court.
Plenty of the folk who step through our doors have never held a padel racket, and that’s entirely fine. Seriously, most of the players who come in are in the exact same boat! And for those of you already hooked on padel and hunting for better courts and a proper club to call home, come and see what we’ve put together here.

What’s Padel About?
Padel is a racket sport that fuses elements of tennis and squash, and it’s played on an enclosed court that’s around three-quarters the size of a typical tennis court.
Glass walls and metal fencing surround the court, and the ball can ricochet off them during a rally, which produces angles and shots that just don’t appear in tennis.
Underarm serve. Always doubles. Fast rallies that are easy to follow. Best of tennis and squash in a single sport? That’s a spot-on way to put it.
Same scoring as tennis: 15, 30, 40, game. One key difference: golden point at deuce, not advantage. One rally. Game over. It keeps things moving and makes nail-biting games seriously gripping.
It’s played with a solid racket rather than a strung one, so you don’t need the same form that makes tennis so unforgiving for new players.
Half an hour on court and most players have the basics figured out. That quick learning curve is a big reason padel is now one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players in 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK, and padel in Glasgow has been one of the cities leading the way in Scotland!

Hurlford’s Closest Padel Courts
Four indoor panoramic padel courts. All inside our 33,000 sq ft building on Glasgow’s south side.
Every court is full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage surrounds, fitted to the same spec you’d see at professional tournaments. We’re fully indoors, so whatever the weather, you can definitely be on court.
Hurlford’s not exactly famous for wall-to-wall sunshine, so being able to get on court all year round? That makes a proper difference! Outdoor courts do the job when the sun’s out. But that’s a risk you don’t need to take at The Court.
Courts are open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s plenty of flexibility to fit a match around your life! The entire building was purposely set up to deliver the finest padel experience.
Well-lit. Properly ventilated. Plenty of space around every cage.
Built for padel. Not st\uffed into leftover warehouse or leisure centre space.

Beginner Padel Near Hurlford
Most folk who type “padel Hurlford” into their phone have never actually tried it.
If that’s you, listen: padel is one of the easiest racket sports to start having fun with from day one!
Serving is underarm, so you skip that overhand mechanic that requires so long to learn in tennis, and rallies get going right away. Because the court is smaller than a tennis court, you won’t need to sprint into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play rather than firing off into the distance.

More playing. Less chasing. That’s the difference.
There’s no need to carry your own gear. We keep rackets and balls available for borrowing at the venue, so just turn up in trainers and gym gear and you’ll be on court within minutes.
Hop online. Choose a time. Round up three mates. Padel is doubles, so you require four in total. If you’re nervous about looking like a complete beginner, put that thought away!
Padel’s set up around having a great time. Most people are laughing and getting competitive within their first few sessions.
The glass walls produce surprising bounces that catch everyone out, even players who’ve been playing for ages. You want a place to play padel in Glasgow where you don’t feel out of your depth the instant you step onto the court, and that’s exactly what we’ve created here.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions in Hurlford
Fancy a proper introduction instead of just figuring it? Our experienced coaches run sessions for every ability levels. Beginners get walked through all the basics: forehand, backhand, volley, the all-important lob, court positioning, and the basics!
Faster route to fun. Understanding where to be and when to move to the net changes the game in padel.
For players who’ve mastered the basics and are looking to develop further, there are sessions that concentrate on more complex shots.
The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot keeping you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive spin version) are two major shots that separate casual players from people who really get the game! We also run social sessions where you can turn up on your own and get matched with local players.

If rounding up four players every time sounds like hard work, social sessions are a fantastic way to get to know people and get regular matches established. Plenty of our members from Hurlford kicked off by showing up to a social session by themselves and now have a game two or three times a week with folk they met on court!
Not Just Padel Courts
This is where The Court really sets itself apart from other padel venues near Hurlford.
Picture the polar opposite of a warehouse with courts squeezed in, and you’re on the right track. Fully serviced restaurant and bar on site. Grab food and drinks before or after your session. No need to head anywhere else.

It turns an hour of padel into an evening out, and that’s exactly how we built it.
Pilates studio on site too. Padel is brilliant for cardio and agility, while Pilates builds the core {strength} and flexibility that allow you move better on court and recover more quickly.

A good number of our members actually do both in the a single visit! There’s a pro shop too, so if you get hooked (which almost always does happen) you can pick up your own racket without having to order one online and cross your fingers it turns out right.

The staff in the pro shop can walk you through what works for your level and playing style.
We host private events too. If you’re after a team-building activity, a birthday, or just something different for a night out with colleagues, padel is straightforward to organise around a group because the rules are simple and the matches are fast.
Throw in the restaurant and bar and suddenly the full evening taken care of under one roof.
Glasgow Southside’s Padel Club With a Family Feel
Something folk sense early on about The Court is that it doesn’t have that corporate gym feel, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place.
A genuine padel community has built up here naturally, fed by the people who play often, the social sessions that bring new faces in, and the restaurant and bar that give everyone a reason to hang around after the last point.
Padel enthusiasts who’ve been playing for years mingle with newcomers who only started last month, and that’s the feel we wanted to build from day one.
There’s a regular league for members who want a dose of structure and friendly competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that attract players from across Glasgow and beyond.
Winning’s not all that matters though.
Padel is a social sport at its core, and some of the best nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is packed with players who came for a game and stayed for the dinner.
If you’re looking for a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you truly want to be, come and experience the community for yourself.
We suspect you’ll want to stick around.
Padel or Other Sports in Hurlford?
If you’re coming from tennis, the number one adjustment is the walls.
When that ball ricochets off the glass and stays in play, it transforms the whole game about how you think about shot selection.
No firing winners into corners. Your opponent retrieves the ball off the back wall.
Patience and placement over raw power. Tennis players find that a breath of fresh air but remarkably tricky at first.
Squash players tend to find the move a little more natural, because walls are already a standard part of their game.
The big differences are that you’re hitting across a net rather than into the same wall, the court is open above you as opposed to enclosed on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.
Squash players generally adapt pretty sharpish though, particularly to the volleying at the net.
For those who’ve never played a racket sport before, padel is honestly the perfect place to begin with.
More forgiving than tennis. More social than squash. Less punishing than five-a-side. Still a genuine workout.
An hour of padel gets through roughly 400 to 700 calories depending on how hard you go, and it doesn’t wreck your knees the way running on concrete does.
