The Court is Glasgow’s premier padel club, and if you reside in Holytown, it’s the natural choice to play padel.
The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club, featuring four panoramic indoor courts constructed entirely for padel, a restaurant and bar for a bite and a drink after your session, and a genuine club atmosphere that makes your visit feel like much more than just booking a court for an hour.
If you’ve never touched a padel racket before, that’s entirely fine. The honest truth is, most of the players who walk through our doors haven’t touched a racket either. If you’ve been playing for a while and you’re looking for better courts and a genuine club to call home, come and see what we’ve created at The Court.

What is Padel?
Padel is a racket sport that mixes elements of tennis and squash, played on an enclosed court about three-quarters the size of a typical tennis court.
Glass walls. Metal fencing. The ball plays off the glass mid-rally. That opens up angles and shots you’d never find on a tennis court.
Underarm serve. Always doubles. Quick games that are easy to follow. Ever heard padel described as the best of tennis and squash combined? That’s honestly a pretty accurate description!
Same scoring as tennis: 15, 30, 40, game. One key difference: golden point at deuce, not advantage. One deciding rally and the point is won, which keeps matches ticking over and adds a bit of pressure that makes those nail-biting games properly tense.
The racket is solid, not strung, and that one difference means you don’t need the technique that makes tennis so unforgiving for newcomers.
You’ll probably get the feel of the basics within your first half hour of play. This brief learning curve is one of the primary reasons padel has developed into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK as well, and padel in Glasgow has been driving that movement in Scotland.

Padel Courts for Holytown Players
At The Court, you’ll find four indoor panoramic padel courts, all housed within our 33,000 sq ft building on Glasgow’s south side.
Every court is full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage enclosures, constructed to the same grade you’d expect at professional tournaments. Fully indoors. Play come rain or come shine.
Living in Holytown, you understand the weather isn’t always playing ball, so being able to get on court padel year-round at The Court makes a big difference. Some of the outdoor courts dotted around the city are good when the weather plays ball, but that’s a risk you don’t need to take here.
We’re open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s bags of flexibility to fit a session into your routine. The whole facility was carefully fitted to provide the finest padel experience!
You’ll find the courts are well-lit, properly ventilated, and carefully laid out to give you real breathing room around the cage.
The vision was to put together somewhere that felt right for padel, not to wedge a couple of courts into leftover space in a warehouse or leisure centre.

Do You Need to Be a Member to Play Padel at The Court?
You don’t need a membership to play at The Court, absolutely not!
Anybody can grab a court through Playtomic and rock up for a session. Court hire runs from £28 to £40 per hour depending on the time slot, and that covers the court for all four players, so it works out at less than a tenner each for an hour of padel.
If you expect you’ll be getting on court often, membership makes it more affordable and a lot more straightforward!

Play membership: £40 per month. 25% off court bookings. 10-day advance booking. Access to member sessions and events.
The Unlimited membership at £120 per month is made for people who plan to have a game multiple times a week, and it comes with unlimited court access, 14-day priority booking, 10% off food and drink, and invitations to VIP events.

Padel for Newcomers in Holytown
If you’ve just Googled “padel Holytown,” chances are you’ve never actually played!
If that’s you, here’s the good news: padel is one of the most accessible racket sports to get into quickly.
Serving is underarm, so you bypass that overhand action that needs so long to master in tennis, and rallies get going right away. The court’s smaller than a tennis court as well, so you’re not dashing into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play instead of sailing off into the distance.

All of that means more time actually hitting the ball and less time running after it.
And there’s another bonus: you don’t need to pack any kit. Rackets and balls are here to rent. Show up in trainers and sportswear and you’ll be on court within no time.
Just hop online, pick a time, and round up three friends along (padel is a doubles game, so you require four players). If you’re nervous about seeming like a right beginner, don’t be.
Padel’s set up around having a good time. Most newcomers are smiling and into it within their first few matches.
The glass walls produce wild bounces that catch absolutely everybody out, even players who’ve been playing for ages! If you’re looking for a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you walk onto the court, this is it.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Holytown Residents
If you fancy a proper grounding to padel rather than just muddling it out as you go, our skilled coaches run sessions for every ability levels. Starting from scratch, you’ll be walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), along with court positioning and the basics.
It’s a far faster route to actually getting the most from your sessions, because learning where to stand and when to come to the net makes a huge difference in padel!
If you’ve got the basics down and are ready to take your game further, there are sessions built on more complex shots.
The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin) are two shots that set apart casual players from those who really understand the game. We also run social sessions where you can show up on your own and get matched with fellow players, which is great!

If pulling together four players every time sounds like hard work, social sessions are a superb way to get to know people and get regular sessions set up. It’s a tale we see all the time: members from Holytown who turned up to a social session on their own and now have a game two or three times a week with folk they met right here.
Beyond the Padel Courts
Of all the padel clubs near Holytown, this is likely where The Court seems most different.
Picture the polar opposite of a shed with courts stuck in, and you’re on the right track. With a fully serviced bar and restaurant in the club, you can have a bite and a drink either side of your game without having to go anywhere else.

It turns an hour of padel into a proper night out, and that’s exactly how we planned it.
And then there’s the Pilates studio, also on site. Padel works your cardio and agility, while Pilates builds the core {strength} and flexibility that enable you play better on court and recover more quickly.

Some members pair both in the same visit. Solid pairing. There’s a pro shop as well, so if you get hooked (which often does happen) you can buy your own racket without needing to order one online and hope it feels right.

Our staff can talk you through what suits your ability and playing style.
Private events are also part of what we run at The Court. Team building. Birthdays. A new night out with friends. Padel’s simple to organise for groups: easy rules, quick matches.
Add the restaurant and bar to that, and you’ve got the complete evening sorted in one spot!
Glasgow Southside’s Padel Club With a Community Feel
One thing players notice early on about The Court is that it doesn’t seem like a corporate gym or a hire-a-court-and-leave sort of place.
Real padel community. It’s grown naturally from those who come in week after week, social sessions that bring new faces together, and a restaurant and bar that gives everyone a incentive to linger after the last point.
The feel we wanted from day one was exactly this: padel lovers who’ve been playing for years sitting alongside with newcomers who only picked it up last month.
We run a regular league for members who enjoy a bit of structure and healthy competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that pull together players from across Glasgow and beyond.
But it’s not purely about winning.
Social sport at its core. Some of the greatest nights here are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is buzzing with players who came for a session and stayed for the meal.
Finding a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you genuinely fit in isn’t exactly easy, but come and see what the community is like here and we think you’ll notice the difference.
We suspect you’ll want to join.
Padel Compared to Other Sports in Holytown
Tennis players usually find that the number one adjustment is a simple one: the walls.
In padel, the ball ricocheting off the glass alters the whole game about how you approach shot selection.
No firing winners into corners. Your opponent takes the ball off the back wall.
It values patience and placement over raw power, which is why a lot of tennis players find padel enjoyable but remarkably tricky at first!
Squash background? The changeover’s a touch more natural. You already appreciate walls are part of the game.
The primary differences are that you’re hitting across a net as opposed to into the same wall, the court is open above you rather than closed off on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.
Squash players tend to adapt pretty sharpish though, particularly to the volleying at the net.
Never played a racket sport? Padel is truthfully the best sport to begin with.
It’s more forgiving than tennis, more social than squash (because it’s always doubles), and less physically punishing than five-a-side football while still giving you a proper workout.
An hour of padel torches roughly 400 to 700 calories depending on effort level, and it doesn’t destroy your knees the way running on concrete does.

Padel is Growing in Holytown
Holytown’s padel scene has come a remarkably long way in a surprisingly short time!
Not long ago, having a game of padel in Holytown was almost impossible.
What makes The Court different is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not a afterthought to a golf range or a gym chain!
From the courts to the coaching programme to the bar and restaurant, every part about The Court was created around racket sports.
If you’ve tried padel somewhere else in Holytown and you’re looking for a club that takes the sport seriously while still keeping it a laugh and open, we’d be delighted to have you.
