Padel Erskine

The Court is Glasgow’s premier padel club, and if you reside in Erskine, it’s the natural destination to play padel.

The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club and it’s something special! Four panoramic indoor courts designed for the sport, a bar and restaurant for post-game bites and drinks, and a club atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel like so much past just hiring a court.

If you’ve never gripped a padel racket before, that’s perfectly fine. Most of our first-timers are brand new to the sport. If you already play and you’re in search of better courts and a proper club to call home, come and have a look at what we’ve put together.

Underhand Padel Tennis Serve

Padel Explained

Picture a racket sport that grabs the best elements of tennis and squash and plays them on an enclosed court around three-quarters the size of a standard tennis court.

Glass walls and metal fencing surround the court, and when the ball kicks off those walls mid-rally, it opens up angles and shots that tennis simply can’t match.

You serve underarm, it’s always doubles, and the rallies move fast but they’re really easy to follow! Best of tennis and squash combined? That’s a pretty accurate summary.

Scoring follows tennis (15, 30, 40, game), but here’s a brilliant twist: at deuce, padel uses a golden point rather than advantage! One deciding rally and the game is won, which keeps games flowing and adds a bit of pressure that makes those nail-biting games genuinely exciting.

Solid racket, not strung. So you don’t need the technique that makes tennis so punishing for newcomers.

Give it half an hour on court and most people have the basics sorted. This quick learning curve is a major part of why padel is now one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million padel players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. Across the UK, padel is the fastest-growing racket sport around, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that growth north of the border.

Professional Padel Courts Near Erskine

Four indoor panoramic padel courts. All inside our 33,000 sq ft facility on Glasgow’s south side.

Each court is full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage frames, all fitted to the same spec used at professional tournaments. No matter what’s happening outside, you can get a game in, because The Court is fully indoors.

Living in Erskine, you understand the weather isn’t always on your side, so being able to get on court padel year-round at The Court makes a big difference. Outdoor courts are decent when the sun’s out. But that’s a risk you don’t need to take with us.

Our courts are open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s lots of flexibility to fit a match around your routine. The building itself was purposely designed to offer the ideal padel experience.

Courts are well-lit, properly ventilated, and spaced out to give you room around the cage.

The goal was to design somewhere that felt proper for padel, not to cram a few courts into leftover space in a warehouse or leisure centre.

Getting Started with Padel in Erskine

Most players who search for “padel Erskine” have never actually played.

If that’s your story, here’s the bit that counts: padel is one of the most accessible racket sports to start enjoying from your very first game.

The serve is underarm, which means there’s no overhand serving technique to learn before you can even get a rally under way. Because the court is smaller than a tennis court, you won’t need to dash into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play rather than flying off into the distance.

Padel Racket being used in a game.

Put it all together and you get more time actually hitting the ball and way less time dashing after it.

And there’s another plus: you don’t need to pack any equipment. We’ve got padel rackets and balls on hand to hire at the venue, so you can show up in sports shoes and activewear and be on court within minutes.

Simply hop online, choose a time, and bring three pals (padel is a doubles game, so you’ll want four players). If you’re worried about seeming like a complete beginner, don’t be.

The whole padel experience is built around having a brilliant time, and most folk are laughing and feeling competitive within their first few sessions.

Even players who’ve been playing for weeks get caught out by the surprising bounces the glass walls throw up. After a spot to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth from the start? This is it.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Erskine Players

For anyone who’d prefer a structured grounding to padel rather than working it out on your own, our expert coaches run sessions for all ability levels. Beginners get walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), court positioning, and the fundamentals.

That knowledge of where to stand and when to approach the net makes a big difference in padel, and getting it through coaching is a far quicker route to actually getting the most from your games.

Already got the basics sorted and ready to move your game further? There are sessions centred on more technical shots too!

The bandeja, a controlled overhead that keeps you at the net, and the vibora, a more aggressive version with spin. Those two set apart casual players from folk who properly grasp the game. We also run social sessions where you can turn up on your own and get paired with local players, which is great!

The Court Team

It’s one of the easiest ways to meet people and get regular games going without having to arrange a group of four every time. Plenty of our members from Erskine kicked off by coming along to a social session on their own and now play two or three times a week with friends they met on court.

Beyond the Padel Courts

This is almost very likely the area that sets The Court apart from other padel clubs near Erskine.

This isn’t a unit with courts shoved in. The club has a fully serviced restaurant and bar, so you can have a bite and a drink before or after your game without having to drive somewhere else!

Chatting During Pickleball Game

It turns an hour of padel into an evening out, and that’s just how we built it.

There’s a Pilates studio on site as well. Padel is brilliant for cardio and agility, while Pilates builds the core {strength} and flexibility that allow you move better on court and recover more quickly.

Quite a few of our members combine both in the same visit. There’s a pro shop as well, so if you get hooked (which often does happen) you can choose your own racket without having to order one online and hoping it works out right.

Our staff can talk you through exactly what suits your ability and play style!

We run private events too. If you’re after a team-building event, a birthday, or just something new for a night out with mates, padel is straightforward to organise around a group because the rules are easy to pick up and the games are quick.

Bar and restaurant on site too. Whole evening taken care of in one venue.

Glasgow Southside’s Padel Club With a Family Feel

One thing visitors pick up on from the start about The Court is that it genuinely doesn’t feel like a corporate gym or a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place!

The padel community at The Court has grown naturally, fed by the folk who get on court week in week out, the social sessions that keep bringing new faces together, and the restaurant and bar that give everyone a reason to hang around long after the last point.

Veteran players rub shoulders with people who began last month. That’s the vibe we envisioned from day one.

For members who fancy a bit of structure and friendly competition, we run a regular league, and we host tournaments throughout the year that bring together players from across Glasgow and beyond.

Winning’s not the point though.

Padel’s a social sport at its core, and some of the most memorable nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is full with people who came for a session and stayed for the food!

If you’re searching for a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you actually want to be, come and see what the community’s like for yourself!

Odds are you’ll want to come back.

How Padel Compares to Other Sports Available in Erskine

Tennis players usually find that the main adjustment is a single one: the walls.

When that ball ricochets off the glass and stays in play, it transforms the whole game about how you think about shot selection.

You can’t just hit winners into the corners like you would on a tennis court, because your opponent can return the ball off the back wall.

Padel prizes patience and placement over raw power, and that’s why a lot of tennis players find it enjoyable but also remarkably tricky to begin with.

Coming from squash, the switch is a touch more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game.

The key differences are that you hit across a net as opposed to into the same wall, the court is open above you rather than boxed in on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than a squash court wall.

Squash players tend to adapt fast though, particularly to the volleying at the net.

For those who’ve never played a racket sport in their life, padel is genuinely the perfect place to begin with.

Against tennis, it’s more forgiving. Versus squash, it’s more social because it’s always doubles. And against five-a-side football, it’s less physically demanding while still giving you a genuine workout.

You’ll burn somewhere between 400 and 700 calories in an hour of padel depending on how hard you go, and it’s loads softer on your knees than running on concrete.

Erskine’s Padel Community is Growing

Erskine’s padel scene has come a long way in a relatively short time.

A few years ago? Practically nowhere to play.

What makes The Court different is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not a add-on to a golf range or a gym chain.

Every part about this place was created around racket sports, from the courts to the coaching programme to the restaurant and bar!

For players who’ve sampled padel elsewhere in Erskine and are looking for a club that takes the sport seriously while staying a laugh and open, we’d be delighted to welcome you.
