Padel Clarkston

The Court is Glasgow’s premier padel club, and if you live in Clarkston, it’s the perfect destination to play padel.

The Court is Glasgow’s very own padel club, and it’s got four panoramic indoor courts, a restaurant and bar for something to eat and drink after your game, and a proper club feel that goes well beyond just rocking up and reserving a court.

Never played padel? That’s fine. Most of the people who walk through our doors haven’t. And for those of you already hooked on padel and looking for better courts and a proper club to call home, come and see what we’ve built here.

Underhand Padel Tennis Serve

What’s Padel About?

A racket sport mixing tennis and squash, played on an enclosed court around three-quarters the size of a typical tennis court.

The court is lined by glass walls and metal fencing, and because the ball can ricochet off the glass during a rally, it creates angles and shots that don’t exist in tennis.

You serve underarm, it’s always doubles, and the matches are rapid but they’re really straightforward to watch! If you’ve heard padel described as the best of tennis and squash rolled into one, that’s a pretty fair assessment.

The scoring mirrors tennis (15, 30, 40, game), with one key difference to note: at deuce, padel uses a golden point instead of advantage. One rally resolves the entire game, and it keeps games ticking over and makes those tense games seriously gripping!

The racket’s solid as opposed to strung, which means you don’t need the same form that makes tennis so punishing for beginners!

Half an hour on court and most folk have the basics covered. That quick learning curve is a huge reason padel is now one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players in 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK too, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that push in Scotland.

Padel Courts Near Clarkston Players

We’ve got four indoor panoramic padel courts based here at The Court, all housed inside our 33,000 sq ft space on Glasgow’s south side!

The courts are full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage enclosures, built to the same specifications you’d find at professional tournaments. Rain or shine, you can play, because The Court is fully indoors.

Clarkston and wall-to-wall sunshine don’t always go hand in hand. Year-round availability counts. Outdoor courts are decent when the sun’s out. But that’s a roll of the dice you don’t need to take here.

Our courts run from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s enough flexibility to fit a game around work or family life. The venue itself was specifically designed to provide the finest padel experience.

The courts are well-lit, properly ventilated, and set up to give you plenty of room around the cage.

We wanted to create somewhere that felt right for padel, not wedge a pair of courts into whatever space was left over in a warehouse or leisure centre.

Trying Padel in Clarkston

If you’ve just Googled “padel Clarkston,” chances are you’ve never actually been on court!

If that’s you, here’s the brilliant news: padel is one of the friendliest racket sports to pick up fast.

You serve underarm, so there’s no tough overhead serving motion to master before you can get a rally under way. A smaller court means less running into back corners, and the glass walls serve as boundaries that keep the ball in play rather than flying off into the distance.

Padel Racket being used in a game.

More playing. Less chasing. That’s padel.

There’s no need to pack your own equipment. We have padel rackets and balls ready to borrow at the club, so you can rock up in trainers and sportswear and be on court within no time.

Just go online, grab a time, and round up three friends (padel is a doubles sport, so you’ll need four players). Nervous about seeming lost? Don’t be.

The whole padel experience is designed around having a brilliant time, and most people are laughing and getting competitive within their first few games.

Glass walls throw up wild bounces. They catch all players out, even players who’ve been at it for ages. If you’re searching for a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you step on the court, this is it.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Clarkston Residents

Some players like a proper grounding to padel rather than just working it out as they go, and that’s exactly what our qualified coaches run with sessions for various ability levels. Beginners get walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), court positioning, and the fundamentals.

Learning where to position yourself and when to move to the net makes a massive difference in padel, and coaching is the shortest way to get there.

For players who’ve nailed the basics and are looking to improve further, there are sessions that concentrate on more complex shots.

The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin) are two shots that distinguish casual players from those who truly know the game. We also run social sessions where you can rock up on your own and get matched with other players, which is great!

The Court Team

It’s one of the easiest ways to meet new players and get regular sessions going without having to arrange a group of four every time. Plenty of our members from Clarkston began by coming along to a social session on their own and now play two or three times a week with people they met on court!

Not Just Padel Courts

This is likely where The Court looks most different from other padel facilities dotted near Clarkston!

We’re not just a unit with courts crammed in. The club’s got a fully serviced bar and restaurant, so you can have a bite and a drink before or after your game without having to drive anywhere else.

Chatting During Pickleball Game

It turns an hour of padel into a full evening out, and that’s exactly how we designed it!

And right next door there’s the Pilates studio, also on site. Padel handles cardio and agility. Pilates develops the core strength and flexibility to move better on court and bounce back faster.

That’s worth knowing that quite a few of our members do both in the same visit. We also have a pro shop on site, so if you get hooked (which usually does happen) you can grab your own racket without needing to buy online and hope if it’ll feel right.

Our team can talk you through precisely what fits your level and play style!

Private events are another big side of what we run here! Team building. Birthdays. A fresh night out with friends. Padel’s straightforward to put together for groups: straightforward rules, snappy rallies.

Add the bar and restaurant to that, and you’ve got the entire evening covered in one location.

Club Padel in the Heart of Glasgow’s Southside

The Court doesn’t feel like a corporate gym. It’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave sort of place by any stretch.

There’s a genuine padel community here, and it’s built up naturally from the folk who play regularly, the social sessions bringing new faces together, and the restaurant and bar giving everyone a incentive to stay after the last point!

Padel devotees who’ve been playing for years mix with folk who only began last month, and that’s the feel we wanted to build from day one.

We run a regular league for members who like a dose of structure and good-natured competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that bring together players from across Glasgow and beyond!

But honestly, it’s not just about winning!

At its core, padel is a social sport, and some of the greatest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is buzzing with players who came for a session and stayed for the dinner.

For anyone after a padel club in Glasgow that seems like somewhere you actually belong, we’d encourage you to come and see the community for yourself.

We suspect you’ll want to stick around.

How Padel Compares to Other Sports to Play in Clarkston

If you’re coming from tennis, the biggest adjustment is the walls.

In padel, the ball staying in play off the glass shifts absolutely everything about how you consider shot selection!

Different from tennis, you can’t just smash winners into the corners, because your opponent can take the ball off the back wall.

It values patience and placement over raw power, which is why a lot of tennis players find padel a breath of fresh air but unexpectedly tricky at first!

Squash background? The switch’s a shade more natural. You already appreciate walls are part of the game.

Net instead of a shared wall. Open court above you instead of four walls. Glass bounces not like squash court walls. Those are the main differences.

Squash players usually adapt fast though, especially to the volleying at the net.

And if you’ve never played a racket sport at all, padel is genuinely the smartest place to start.

Against tennis, it’s more forgiving. Compared to squash, it’s more social because it’s always doubles. And against five-a-side football, it’s less physically demanding while still providing a solid workout.

Between 400 and 700 calories are used up in an hour of padel depending on how hard you’re playing, and unlike running on concrete, your knees stay intact.

Padel is Growing in Clarkston : Join Our Community

Not long ago, Clarkston’s padel scene scarcely existed. Now it’s come a remarkably long way.

A few years ago there was almost nowhere to play.

What makes The Court different is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not a bolt-on to a golf range or a gym chain!

Courts. Coaching programme. Restaurant and bar. Everything here was constructed around racket sports.

Played padel elsewhere in Clarkston? After a club that takes the sport seriously but keeps it enjoyable and warm? We’d really love to have you.
