What’s Padel All About?
Padel is a racket sport that brings together elements of tennis and squash, and it’s played on an enclosed court that’s roughly three-quarters the size of a standard tennis court.
The court is enclosed by glass walls and metal fencing, and the ball can bounce off those walls mid-rally, which produces angles and shots you’d never see in tennis.
You serve underarm, you always play doubles, and the rallies are fast-paced but remarkably simple to follow. Best of tennis and squash combined? That’s a pretty accurate description.
Same scoring as tennis: 15, 30, 40, game. One big difference: golden point at deuce, not advantage. One deciding rally and the point is won, which keeps matches moving and adds a touch of pressure that makes those tight games properly gripping.
Padel uses a solid racket as opposed to a strung one, so you can skip the same swing mechanics that makes tennis so unforgiving for beginners.
Most folk learn the basics within their first half hour on court. This quick learning curve is one of the key reasons padel has grown into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. Padel is the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK right now, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that charge in Scotland.

Padel Courts Near Castlemilk Residents
Our 33,000 sq ft space on Glasgow’s south side is home to four indoor panoramic padel courts, all purpose-built for the sport.
Every court is full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage frames, constructed to the same grade you’d expect at professional tournaments. Because we’re fully indoors, you can get a game in in any weather.
Castlemilk isn’t exactly famous for wall-to-wall sunshine, so being able to play year-round makes a big difference. Some of the outdoor courts dotted around the city are great when the weather cooperates, but that’s a roll of the dice you don’t need to take here.
Our opening hours run from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, giving you lots of flexibility to fit a match around everything else. Every detail of the space was purposely fitted to provide the ideal padel experience.
The courts are well-lit, fully ventilated, and positioned to give you space around the cage.
We wanted to build somewhere that felt right for padel, not cram a couple of courts into whatever space was left in a warehouse or leisure centre.

New to Padel in Castlemilk?
If you’ve Googled “padel Castlemilk,” you’re probably one of the many people who hasn’t actually played yet.
If that describes you, here’s what you should know: padel is one of the friendliest racket sports to start getting into fast.
Underarm serve. No complicated technique to learn first. Rallies begin straight away. A smaller court means less running into back corners, and the glass walls work as barriers that keep the ball in play rather than flying off into the distance.

That all results in more time striking the ball and less time sprinting after it.
You don’t need to haul any stuff with you either. We’ve got rackets and balls in stock to pick up at the club, so you can rock up in sports shoes and activewear and be out playing within no time!
Simply get online, choose a time, and gather three friends (padel is a doubles sport, so you’ll need four players). If you’re anxious about seeming like a complete beginner, don’t worry!
The whole padel experience is geared around having a good time, and most folk are laughing and getting competitive within their first few rallies.
The glass walls generate surprising bounces that catch everybody out, even players who’ve been playing for ages. If you’re searching for a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you walk onto the court, come no further!

Padel Coaching and Social Play in Castlemilk
A lot of players want a proper introduction to padel rather than just working it out as they go, and that’s just what our experienced coaches deliver with sessions for various ability levels. Beginners get walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), court positioning, and the basics.
It’s a much faster route to actually enjoying your games, because knowing where to be and when to push up to the net makes a enormous difference in padel!
Got the basics covered? Sessions on more complex shots will push your game to the next level.
The bandeja, a controlled overhead that keeps you at the net, and the vibora, a more aggressive version with spin. Those two divide casual players from people who truly grasp the game. Social sessions are happening too. Show up on your own and get grouped with fellow players.

It’s one of the quickest ways to meet new players and get regular games going without having to pull together four players every single time! Many of our members from Castlemilk first came to a social session on their own and now consistently have a game two or three times a week with friends they met on court.
Past the Padel Courts
This is where The Court stands out from other padel spaces near Castlemilk.
We’re not just a unit with a handful of courts crammed in. Fully serviced restaurant and bar on site. Eat and drink before or after your match. No need to go anywhere else.

It turns an hour of padel into an evening out, and that’s precisely how we designed it.
Pilates studio on site too. Padel’s great for cardio and agility, and Pilates works the core {strength} and flexibility that help you move better on court and recover sooner.

Some members do both in the a single visit. Great combination. And then there’s the pro shop, waiting for when you get hooked (which tends to happen), so you can choose your own racket without rolling the dice on an online order and hoping it turns out right.

Our staff can walk you through what suits your level and play style.
Private events are another side of what we offer. Team building. Birthdays. A new night out with pals. Padel’s dead easy to arrange for groups: straightforward rules, snappy games.
Bar and restaurant on site alongside. Complete evening wrapped up in one spot.
The Court: A Community Padel Club in Glasgow’s Southside
One thing visitors sense pretty quickly about The Court is that it really doesn’t feel like a corporate gym or a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place!
The padel community at The Court has built up naturally, fuelled by the regulars who get on court regularly, the social sessions that keep bringing new faces together, and the restaurant and bar that give everyone a excuse to stay long after the last point.
The feel we wanted from day one was just this: padel lovers who’ve been playing for years mingling with folk who only picked it up last month.
We run a regular league for members who enjoy a touch of structure and friendly competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that draw in players from across Glasgow and beyond.
Mind you, it’s not purely about winning.
Padel is a social sport at its core, and some of the most memorable nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is full with folk who came for a game and stayed for the dinner.
If you’re after a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you really fit in, come and see the community for yourself.
We suspect you’ll want to come back.
Padel vs Other Sports in Castlemilk
Tennis players often find that the largest adjustment is a single one: the walls.
When that ball ricochets off the glass and stays in play, it alters the whole game about how you plan shot selection.
Different from tennis, you can’t just smash winners into the corners, because your opponent can play the ball off the back wall.
Brute force takes a back seat to patience and placement, which is why tennis players tend to find padel both enjoyable and surprisingly tricky at first.
Coming from squash, the transition is a shade more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game.
The key differences are that you’re hitting across a net as opposed to into the same wall, the court is open above you rather than boxed in on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.
Generally, squash players adapt to padel without much trouble, most of all with the volleying at the net.
If you’ve never played a racket sport before, padel is honestly the best one to kick off with.
More forgiving than tennis. More social than squash. Less demanding than five-a-side. Still a solid workout.
Between 400 and 700 calories get burned in an hour of padel depending on how hard you’re playing, and unlike running on concrete, your knees end up unscathed.

The Growing Padel Community in Castlemilk

Everything about this place was constructed around racket sports, from the courts to the coaching programme to the restaurant and bar.
If you’ve tried padel somewhere else in Castlemilk and you’re after a club that takes the sport to heart while still keeping it a laugh and open, we’d really love to have you.
