Living in Cardonald and dying to play padel? The Court is the ideal spot for you!
The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club and it’s something special! Four panoramic indoor courts designed for the sport, a bar and restaurant for post-game bites and drinks, and a club atmosphere that makes each session feel like more than just reserving a court.
Never played padel? No problem. The reality is, most of the people who come through our doors haven’t touched a racket either. And for those of you already hooked on padel and hunting for better courts and a proper club to call home, come and see what we’ve created here.

What’s Padel All About?
Padel is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash, played on an enclosed court about three-quarters the size of a standard tennis court.
The court is surrounded by glass walls and metal fencing, and the ball can bounce off those walls mid-rally, which creates angles and shots you’d never find in tennis.
The serve is underarm, the format is always doubles, and the rallies are fast-paced but surprisingly easy to follow. If you’ve heard padel described as the best of tennis and squash rolled into one, that’s a fairly accurate description.
Scoring matches tennis (15, 30, 40, game), but here’s a fun twist: at deuce, padel uses a golden point instead of advantage! One rally resolves the entire game, and that keeps things moving and makes those tight games genuinely edge-of-your-seat!
Padel uses a solid racket instead of a strung one, so you can skip the same precision that makes tennis so unforgiving for newcomers.
Most newcomers get the hang of the basics within their first half hour on court. This fast learning curve is one of the main reasons padel has expanded into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. Fastest-growing racket sport in the UK. Padel in Glasgow has been leading that growth in Scotland.

Padel Courts Near Cardonald
At The Court, you’ll find four indoor panoramic padel courts, all housed within our 33,000 sq ft venue on Glasgow’s south side.
The courts are full-sized (20m x 10m) with glass back walls and metal cage surrounds, made to the same grade you’d see at professional tournaments. Fully indoors. Play any day of the year.
Anyone from Cardonald knows that wall-to-wall sunshine isn’t exactly something you can count on, so year-round indoor play makes a real difference. There are outdoor courts dotted around the city that are good when the weather plays ball, but booking with us means you don’t need to take that gamble.
From 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, there’s bags of room in the schedule to fit a game around work, family, and everything else. Fitted from scratch for the ultimate padel experience.
The lighting is excellent, the ventilation is proper, and there’s real breathing room around each cage.
Built for padel. Not st\uffed into leftover warehouse or leisure centre space.

Do You Need a Membership to Play?
You don’t need to be a member to book a court at The Court.
The general public can grab a court through Playtomic and just come along for a session! Court hire costs £28 to £40 per hour depending on the time slot, and that covers the four players, which works out at less than a tenner each for an hour of sport.
For regular players, membership brings better prices and more straightforward booking.

With the Play membership at £40 per month, you’ll get 25% off court bookings, 10-day advance booking, and access to member sessions and events.
If you’re the type who likes to have a game several times a week, the Unlimited membership at £120 per month gives you unlimited court access, 14-day priority booking, 10% off food and drink, and invitations to exclusive events!

How to Get Started with Padel in Cardonald
“Padel Cardonald” gets typed in a lot. Most folk doing that search have never had a game.
If that’s you, listen: padel is one of the most accessible racket sports to start enjoying fast!
Serving is underarm, so you dodge that overhead mechanic that takes forever to master in tennis, and rallies start from your first game. Smaller court. No running into back corners. Glass walls keep the ball in play instead of sailing off into the distance.

All of that means more time actually playing the ball and less time dashing after it.
And here’s another bonus: you don’t need to carry any equipment. We’ve got padel rackets and balls on hand to hire at the club, so you can turn up in gym shoes and sports clothes and be out playing within moments!
Select a time online and bring three friends along with you (padel is always doubles, so four players is what you’ll require). Nervous about feeling out of place? Don’t be.
The whole padel experience is set up for having a great time, and most people are laughing and getting competitive within their first few sessions!
The glass walls throw up surprising bounces that catch everybody out, even people who’ve been playing for ages. On the hunt for a place to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth on day one? This is it.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions in Cardonald
If you want a proper intro to padel instead of just making it up as you go, our experienced coaches run sessions for all ability levels! As a beginner, you’ll get walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), court positioning, and the basics.
It’s a far quicker way to begin properly having fun in your matches, because understanding where to stand and when to push up to the net makes a enormous difference in padel.
Got the basics sorted? Sessions on more complex shots will push your game to the next level.
The bandeja, a controlled overhead that keeps you at the net, and the vibora, a more aggressive version with spin. Those two set apart casual players from players who genuinely know the game. We run social sessions too, where you can show up on your own and get matched with fellow players.

If rounding up four players every time feels like hard work, social sessions are a brilliant way to meet people and get regular sessions set up. Many of our members from Cardonald first showed up to a social session on their own and now regularly get on court two or three times a week with people they met on court.
More Than Just Padel Courts
This is likely the thing that sets The Court apart from other padel facilities near Cardonald.
This isn’t a shed with courts shoved in. Fully serviced bar and restaurant on site. Grab food and drinks either side of your game. No need to drive anywhere else.

It turns an hour of padel into a proper evening out, and that’s precisely how we intended it!
There’s a Pilates studio on site too. Padel’s superb for cardio and agility, and Pilates builds the core strength and flexibility that enable you perform better on court and bounce back more quickly!

A few of our members stack the two in a single visit, and it’s a smart move. There’s a pro shop too, so when you get hooked (and it tends to happen) you can buy your own racket without having to buy one online and cross your fingers it works out right!

Our team can talk you through what suits your level and playing style.
We run private events too. If you’re planning a team-building event, a birthday, or just a fresh idea for a night out with colleagues, padel’s straightforward to arrange around a group because the rules are simple and the rallies are quick.
Factor in the restaurant and bar and that’s the complete evening wrapped up under one roof.
Club Padel in the Heart of Glasgow’s Southside
Something visitors spot from the start about The Court is that it doesn’t have that corporate gym feel, and it’s not a hire-a-court-and-leave sort of place.
There’s a proper padel community here, and it’s built up naturally from the regulars, the social sessions that bring new faces together, and the truth that the restaurant and bar give everyone a excuse to hang around after the last point.
Padel lovers who’ve been playing for years sit alongside with folk who only began last month, and that’s the atmosphere we wanted to build from day one.
We run a regular league for members who want a shot of structure and healthy competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that draw in players from across Glasgow and beyond.
But it’s not purely about winning here.
Padel’s a social sport at its core, and some of the finest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is buzzing with faces who came for a match and stayed for the food!
If you’re on the hunt for a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you genuinely fit in, come and see the community for yourself.
We’re quite convinced you’ll want to stick around.
Comparing Padel and Other Sports in Cardonald
Coming from tennis? The biggest shift is definitely the walls!
In padel, the ball remaining in play off the glass transforms everything about how you think about shot selection.
You can’t just smash winners into the corners the way you would on a tennis court, because your opponent can still retrieve the ball off the back wall!
Raw power takes a back seat to patience and placement, which is why tennis players tend to find padel both a welcome change and remarkably tricky at first.
Coming from squash? The move’s a touch more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game!
The big differences are that you’re hitting across a net instead of into the same wall, the court is open above you instead of closed off on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than off a squash court wall!
Squash players adapt without much trouble though. The volleying at the net comes second nature.
No racket sport training at all? Honestly, padel is the best place to begin.
Compared to tennis, it’s more forgiving. Against squash, it’s more social because it’s always doubles. And against five-a-side football, it’s less physically demanding while still giving you a genuine workout.
400 to 700 calories per hour, depending on intensity. And your knees don’t take a pounding like they do on concrete.
