Padel Broomhill

Living in Broomhill and dying to play padel? The Court is the ultimate club for you!

The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club, with four panoramic indoor courts built specifically for the sport, a restaurant and bar where you can have a bite and a drink after your game, and a genuine club atmosphere that makes the whole visit feel like far beyond just hiring a court for an hour.

Not touched a padel racket yet? Don’t sweat it! The reality is, most of the players who come through our doors haven’t played before. And if you’re already playing and in search of better courts and a proper club to call home, come check out what we’ve created.

Underhand Padel Tennis Serve

A Quick Guide to Padel

Imagine a racket sport that pulls the best pieces of tennis and squash and plays them on an enclosed court about three-quarters the size of a typical tennis court.

Glass walls and metal fencing border the court, and the ball can ricochet off them during a rally, which opens up angles and shots that just don’t appear in tennis.

The serve is underarm, the format is always doubles, and the games are rapid but reassuringly easy to follow. Best of tennis and squash rolled into one? That’s a solid summary.

Scoring copies tennis at 15, 30, 40, game, but padel adds a twist at deuce: a single golden point replaces advantage. One rally. Game done. It keeps games flowing and makes nail-biting games seriously tense.

Padel uses a solid racket as opposed to a strung one, so you can skip the same swing mechanics that makes tennis so punishing for newcomers.

Most folk get the feel of the basics within their first half hour on court. That brief learning curve has been a driving force behind padel becoming one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with over 35 million players active across 150 countries according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK as well, and padel in Glasgow has been driving that push in Scotland.

Our Padel Courts Near Broomhill

There are four indoor panoramic padel courts at The Court, all housed inside our 33,000 sq ft building on Glasgow’s south side.

The courts are full-sized at 20m x 10m, with glass back walls and metal cage surrounds, built to the same spec you’d expect at professional tournaments! We’re fully indoors, so come rain or shine, you can definitely get a game in.

Broomhill and wall-to-wall sunshine don’t exactly go hand in hand. Year-round availability counts. Outdoor courts dotted around the city are good when the weather’s behaving, but why take that risk when you don’t need to?

From 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, there’s bags of room in the timetable to fit a game around work, family, and everything else. The entire space was carefully set up to provide the finest padel experience!

The lighting is excellent, the ventilation is proper, and there’s proper breathing room around each cage.

Built for padel. Not crammed into leftover warehouse or leisure centre room.

How to Get Started with Padel in Broomhill

“Padel Broomhill” gets searched a lot. Most people doing that search have never played.

If that’s you, here’s the good news: padel is one of the easiest racket sports to start enjoying from the off.

The serve is underarm, which means there’s no overhand serving motion to master before you can even get a rally under way. Because the court is smaller than a tennis court, you don’t need to chase into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play rather than sailing off into the distance.

Padel Racket being used in a game.

That all results in more time striking the ball and less time chasing after it.

You don’t even need to haul any gear with you! We keep rackets and balls available for hire at the club, so just show up in gym shoes and sportswear and you’ll be on court within moments.

Simply get online, choose a time, and grab three mates (padel is a doubles sport, so you’ll require four players). If you’re hesitant about feeling like a right beginner, don’t be.

The whole padel experience is set up for having a great time, and most people are laughing and getting competitive within their first few games.

Those glass walls produce bounces that no one can fully predict, and they catch everybody out, from first-timers to people who’ve been at it for weeks. If you’re searching for a venue to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you walk onto the court, this is it.

Padel Coaching and Social Sessions for Broomhill Residents

Prefer a proper introduction instead of just muddling it? Our expert coaches run sessions for all ability levels. For beginner, you’ll get walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), court positioning, and the fundamentals.

Understanding where to position yourself and when to move to the net makes a huge difference in padel, and coaching is the fastest way to get there.

Already got the basics sorted and want to take your game further? There are sessions focused on more technical shots too!

The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot that keeps you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive version with spin) are two shots that distinguish casual players from those who truly understand the game. We also run social sessions where you can come along on your own and get paired with other players, which is great!

The Court Team

It’s one of the best ways to connect with people and get regular sessions going without needing to round up four players every single time! It’s a pattern we come across all the time: members from Broomhill who rocked up to a social session on their own and now play two or three times a week with people they met right here.

More Than Just Padel Courts

This is probably where The Court seems most different from other padel venues dotted near Broomhill!

We’re definitely not just a box with courts crammed in! A fully serviced bar and restaurant sits right within the club, so you can eat and drink either side of your match without needing to go somewhere else.

Chatting During Pickleball Game

It turns an hour of padel into a full evening out, and that’s just how we intended it.

We’ve also got a Pilates studio in the building! Padel is superb for cardio and agility, while Pilates builds the core {strength} and flexibility that allow you perform better on court and bounce back more quickly.

Some members pair both in the one visit. Great combination. There’s a pro shop as well, so if you get hooked (which often does happen) you can buy your own racket without having to order one online and pray it turns out right.

Our team can walk you through what matches your level and play style.

We do private events too. Team building. Birthdays. A different night out with colleagues. Padel’s dead easy to put together for groups: straightforward rules, fast games.

Throw in the bar and restaurant to that, and you’ve got the entire evening covered in one place!

Padel With a Family Feel in Glasgow’s Southside

One thing visitors pick up on early on about The Court is that it doesn’t seem like a corporate gym or a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place.

There’s a genuine padel community here, and it’s grown naturally from the people who play often, the social sessions that bring new faces together, and the truth that the restaurant and bar give everyone a incentive to hang around after the last point.

Experienced players mingle with players who began last month. That’s the feel we envisioned from day one.

For members who enjoy a shot of structure and healthy competition, we run a regular league, and we host tournaments throughout the year that pull together players from across Glasgow and beyond.

But it’s not all about winning here.

A few of the greatest nights at the club are the ones where nobody’s keeping score, the restaurant is packed with people who came for a session and stayed for the meal, and padel is doing what it does best: pulling everyone together.

If you’re looking for a padel club in Glasgow that comes across like somewhere you really belong, come and see what the community’s like for yourself!

We believe you’ll want to come back.

Padel vs Other Sports in Broomhill

Coming from tennis? The number one change is definitely the walls!

In padel, the ball coming off the glass shifts your entire approach about how you consider shot selection.

Unlike tennis, you can’t just fire winners into the corners, because your opponent can play the ball off the back wall.

Padel values patience and placement over raw power, which is why plenty of tennis players find it a breath of fresh air but also surprisingly tricky at first.

Squash players generally find the switch a bit more natural, because walls are already a standard part of their game.

Net as opposed to a shared wall. Open court above you instead of four walls. Glass bounces differently from squash court walls. Those are the main differences.

Squash players usually adapt without much trouble though, especially to the volleying up at the net!

For players who’ve never played a racket sport before, padel is truthfully the ideal one to start with.

Compared to tennis, it’s more forgiving. Versus squash, it’s more social because it’s always doubles. And compared to five-a-side football, it’s less physically brutal while still delivering a genuine workout.

An hour of padel torches somewhere between 400 and 700 calories depending on how hard you’re playing, and it doesn’t hammer your knees the way running on concrete does!

Be Part of Broomhill’s Growing Padel Community

The padel scene in Broomhill has come a long way in a relatively short space of time.

Just a few years ago, there was next to nowhere to play!

What sets The Court apart is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not an afterthought tacked onto a golf range or a gym chain.

Every part about this place was designed around racket sports, from the courts to the coaching programme to the restaurant and bar.

If you’ve played padel somewhere else in Broomhill and you’re looking for a club that takes the sport properly while still keeping it a good time and welcoming, we’d really love to have you.
