Padel Bearsden

The Court is Glasgow’s premier padel club, and if you live in Bearsden, it’s the perfect place to play padel.

The Court is Glasgow’s dedicated padel club and it’s something special! Four panoramic indoor courts created for the sport, a bar and restaurant for post-game bites and drinks, and a club atmosphere that makes each session feel like so much past just hiring a court.

Not gripped a padel racket before? Don’t sweat it! Most of the folk who come through our doors haven’t. If you’re already into padel and searching for better courts and a real club to call home, you need to come and see what we’ve built!

Underhand Padel Tennis Serve

What is Padel?

A racket sport combining tennis and squash, played on an enclosed court around three-quarters the size of a standard tennis court.

The court is enclosed by glass walls and metal fencing, and the ball can kick off those walls mid-rally, which produces angles and shots you’d never have in tennis.

The serve goes underarm, every match is doubles, and games zip along, yet they’re remarkably easy to follow. Players sometimes call it the best of tennis and squash rolled into one, and honestly, that’s a fairly fair way to put it.

Scoring operates the same as tennis (15, 30, 40, game), with one key difference: at deuce, padel uses a golden point rather than advantage. One rally resolves the entire game, and it keeps games ticking over and makes those tight games genuinely edge-of-your-seat!

The racket is solid, not strung, and that one difference means you don’t need the form that makes tennis so punishing for beginners.

Give it half an hour on court and most newcomers have the basics down. Brief learning curve. It’s a major reason padel now has over 35 million players across 150 countries, according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025. It’s the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK as well, and padel in Glasgow has been leading that push in Scotland.

Padel Courts Near Bearsden Players

We have four indoor panoramic padel courts at The Court, all housed inside our 33,000 sq ft space on Glasgow’s south side.

The courts are full-sized at 20m x 10m, with glass back walls and metal cage enclosures, fitted to the same standards you’d find at professional tournaments! Because we’re fully indoors, you can get a game in any time, whatever the weather!

Bearsden’s not exactly renowned for non-stop sun, so being able to get on court all year makes a real difference. Sure, outdoor courts dotted around the city are good when the weather behaves, but why take that risk when you don’t have to?

We’re open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, so there’s enough flexibility to fit a match in around work and family. The whole space was deliberately set up to deliver the ultimate padel experience.

The courts are well-lit, properly ventilated, and positioned just right to give you room around the cage!

We wanted to design somewhere that felt like home for padel, not stuff a couple of courts into whatever room was left in a warehouse or leisure centre.

Trying Padel in Bearsden

Most players who type “padel Bearsden” into Google have never actually been on court.

That’s you? Good news. Padel is one of the most accessible racket sports to start getting into quickly.

Because you serve underarm, there’s no complicated serving motion to master before you can even get a rally going. The court’s smaller than a tennis court too, so you’re not sprinting into back corners, and the glass walls keep the ball in play instead of flying off into the distance!

Padel Racket being used in a game.

All of that means you spend more time actually playing the ball and less time chasing after it!

You don’t even need to haul any stuff with you! We’ve got rackets and balls in stock to pick up at the club, so you can turn up in trainers and sportswear and be on court within no time.

Just get online, grab a time, and gather three friends (padel is a doubles game, so you’ll require four players). Worried about looking lost? Don’t be.

The whole padel experience is designed for having a great time, and most newcomers are laughing and being competitive within their first few matches.

The glass walls generate unexpected bounces that catch absolutely all players out, even folk who’ve been playing for months! For those looking for a place to play padel in Glasgow where you won’t feel out of your depth the first time you walk onto the court, The Court is that place.

Coaching and Social Padel Close to Bearsden

A lot of people want a proper intro to padel rather than just working it out as they go, and that’s just what our experienced coaches provide with sessions for all ability levels. Beginners get walked through the basic shots (forehand, backhand, volley, and the all-important lob), court positioning, and the rules.

It’s a much faster route to actually getting the most from your games, because understanding where to position yourself and when to come to the net makes a big difference in padel!

Once the basics are covered and you’re eager to move your game further, more technical sessions are available for you.

The bandeja (a controlled overhead shot keeping you at the net) and the vibora (a more aggressive spin version) are two key shots that distinguish casual players from those who really know the game! If you can’t always have a group of four to hand, our social sessions let you come along on your own and get paired with nearby players.

The Court Team

It’s one of the quickest ways to connect with new players and get regular games going without having to round up four players every single time! A good number of our members from Bearsden first came to a social session on their own and now regularly get on court two or three times a week with friends they met on court.

We’ve Got More Than Padel Courts

Of all the padel venues near Bearsden, this is almost very likely where The Court feels most different.

We’re categorically not just a box with courts in it! The club has a fully serviced bar and restaurant, so you can have a bite and a drink either side of your match without needing to travel somewhere else.

Chatting During Pickleball Game

It turns an hour of padel into a whole night out, and that’s precisely how we planned it.

As well as padel, there’s a Pilates studio on site. Padel builds your cardio and agility, while Pilates develops the core {strength} and flexibility that help you perform better on court and bounce back sooner.

Some members do both in the one visit. Smart move. There’s a pro shop too, so if you get hooked (which often does happen) you can buy your own racket without having to order one online and hope it works out right.

Our team can walk you through exactly what fits your level and playing style!

Private events are another part of what we do at The Court. Planning a team-building day, a birthday, or just a change for a night out with friends? Padel is really straightforward to arrange around a group because the rules are straightforward and the rallies are fast!

Include the bar and restaurant to that, and you’ve got the entire evening wrapped up in one spot.

The Court: A Community Padel Club in Glasgow’s Southside

One thing folk pick up on early on about The Court is that it doesn’t seem like a corporate gym or a hire-a-court-and-leave kind of place.

There’s a proper padel community here, and it’s grown naturally from the regulars who come in week in week out, the social sessions bringing new faces together, and the bar and restaurant giving everyone a incentive to linger after the last point!

Long-time players rub shoulders with folk who started last month. That’s the energy we aimed for from day one.

There’s a regular league for members who want a touch of structure and good-natured competition, and we host tournaments throughout the year that bring together players from across Glasgow and beyond.

Winning’s not everything though.

Social sport at its core. Some of the most memorable nights here are the ones where nobody’s keeping score and the restaurant is packed with folk who came for a match and stayed for the meal.

For those searching for a padel club in Glasgow that feels like somewhere you actually fit in, we’d encourage you to come and check out the community for yourself.

Odds are you’ll want to come back.

Padel or Other Sports in Bearsden?

If you’ve got a tennis background, the largest adjustment is the walls.

When that ball comes off the glass and stays in play, it alters everything about how you approach shot selection.

You can’t just smash winners into the corners the way you would on a tennis court, because your opponent can still return the ball off the back wall!

Padel values patience and placement over raw power, which is why loads of tennis players find it enjoyable but also surprisingly tricky at first.

Coming from squash? The transition’s a little more natural because you’re already used to walls being part of the game!

The big differences are that you’re hitting across a net rather than into the same wall, the court is open above you as opposed to closed off on all sides, and the ball bounces differently off glass than it does off a squash court wall.

Squash players usually adapt quickly though, above all to the volleying at the net.

If you’ve never played a racket sport at all, padel is honestly the ideal one to start with!

It’s more forgiving than tennis, more social than squash (because it’s always doubles), and less physically demanding than five-a-side footy while still giving you a solid workout.

An hour of padel gets through somewhere between 400 and 700 calories depending on how hard you’re going, and it doesn’t destroy your knees the way running on concrete does.

Join Bearsden’s Growing Padel Community

Bearsden’s padel scene has come a seriously long way in a surprisingly short time.

A few years ago? Virtually nowhere to have a game.

What makes The Court different is that we’re a dedicated padel club, not a side project to a golf range or a gym chain!

From the courts to the coaching programme to the restaurant and bar, everything about The Court was designed around racket sports.

If you’ve played padel somewhere else in Bearsden and you’re after a club that takes the sport seriously while still keeping it a good time and welcoming, we’d really love to have you.
